Just wondering if there's any weights or brands that people normally have better or worse luck with? My last .40 was a G23 and it ate 180 gr anything like candy. Some of my Ruger's and all were more picky, now on to my first Kahr, not sure how they react. Probably go with Gold Dots, but I saw the Gold Dot Short Barrel edition....any real benefit? Any experience with the Corbon DPX?

I just use whatever will fit in the hole at the back of the barrel, preferably with a hole in the front of the round.

That's my normal philosophy. Especially for range, a little more picky for defense but not too much. If it feeds and fires, I use it. Unless I notice one type just not working well. I try to stay consistent so when one works I'll stick with it. But I know some guns are picky eaters and didn't know if the Kahr was too. Or if there was any weights not good for the barrel.

I was being too flippant. I have three 40's, a CW40, M&P c 40, and HK USP 40. So far they will all shoot anything I have tried - WWB, Federal, Remington UMC, Golden Sabers, Gold Dot, Ranger Bonded HP, etc. I don't usually buy Corbon or Hornady because I'm too cheap to pay their prices. I also don't buy anything that comes in 20 round boxes.

I'm using Winchester Ranger 155gr hp ammo. The lighter bullet weights, between 135 and 165 seem to have greater FPE delivered than the 180 gr. The 180 gr has been adopted by some agencies since it will pass thru a barrier better than the lighter grains. It's really hard to find a really bad load for the .40, I'd go with whatever shoots best from your gun. Some say the lighter bullets have less recoil than the 180gr. A lot of people like the Gold Dot ammo and the Cor Bon, and Hydra Shoks, Golden Sabres, and Ranger SXT.

So in other words, Kahr's generally aren't picky. I'll try out my previous favorites and see how they work then. Going to try some 165gr for the sake of it being a lighter gun, and some 180gr for me liking the heavier round and see what works best going in and out. Appreciate it guys.

Exactly right. Kahrs are not generally picky. I used the Gold Dot 165's when I carried my K40. But you have the right plan. Try what you have used before and maybe the same stuff will work for everything.
