How old would an E9 kahr approx. be?

You might be able to match the serial number to a date by calling Kahr. The GlockTalk serial number thread http://glocktalk.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2842634&postcount=2 has at least one E9 entry from 1997, serial number: AM15xx
