So... Im still on the quest for a new pm45. No luck so far. I have also started a small colt collection and stumbled upon a like new old detective special. Its a hammerless and unshrouded ejector model. Asking price is 395.00.
To anyone who has had expirence with this revolver or ones like it: Is this a fair deal? And how was the reliability/funtion of it? Any input would be greatly appriciated.
I also realize this is a kahr forum and not colt, but u guys have been very helpul in the past about many different gun manufacters in the past so i thought i would atleast ask. Thanks!
condition will determine the price on that
Yojll like the pm45 when ya get it. Some folks complain on the recoil but its no worse than other small frame autos. Accuracy is outstanding.

In addition to what CJB said about condition determining price, I believe there are difierent makes of hammer shrouds and that may affect the price. If that DS is truly like new, it's probably well worth 395.00 and most likely a lot a bit more (give gunbroker.com a look to get some idea).
The old Colts were/are fine reliable pistols. That said parts maybe hard to come by and people that know how to make the lockwork function correctly are getting just as hard to find.

Condition is very good actually. Maybe a couple tiny scratches but basicaly looked like a safe queen.
Im thinkin ill have to buy pm45 on gb when tax returns come around. Cuz all they have around here is the p and cw models. The only other pm and mk models a ever saw at local stores i bought right on the spot!

Check out Bud's too. They usually have them and the prices are usually pretty good too. Sometimes the bidding and stuff is too frustrating for me on GB although I go there often to compare and I've bought a few on there that were must have items. My favorites are the Buy Now with a decent price. Game over your mine.

Hi, I'm a new member here. With reguard to that Colt if its as you say its a steal at that price. They are strong as a bank vault and will run forever with a little care. Most old Colts like that will shoot to point of aim with a heavy bullet (158 gr.) If you need help or advice seek out the experts at the Colt forum. Good luck, TonyR

I figured it was a pretty good deal. Dont know much about colts but i dont see the oldie revolvers often so i think i will go ahead and snag it before someone else does and i regret now getting it.

I ended up gettin a new in box s&w 637. The colt was gone when i went in to get it. But the smith was actually cheaper then the colt. 369.00 plus tax. So im not too sad i guess...

Fine chioce.
And you have sooooo many options of grips, sights .... with a production gun.
I've got a XS Bog Dot on the nose of my snub and highly recommend the upgrade.http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-DvmwNcVyCLg/TeLCvhAwQZI/AAAAAAAAC_o/okWMVINEn5A/s1600/004.JPG
