I picked up a "new" that's what the seller told me" PM9 at a local gun show today. When I got home I pulled the gun down to clean and prep it and I found a B stamped in the fame. Looking at the side of the gun with the slide stop, the B is stamped in the upper part of the trigger guard.
Anyone have a clue about the B???

Well, I thought it was a blem, or "blemished". There's a lot of discussion online if you search. Though Kahr doesn't sell them, supposedly, there are dealers and distributers with them.
In the Kahr Q&A it says there's a "U" for refurbished guns.

Just looked at mine and there is one. Very faint, but there. The P9 does not have it. All I can think of would be a blemish.

Odd, at least compared to either of my PM40s. Is your serial number in the current range of new PM9 pistols?
GlockTalk reports the two most recent entries as:
IC95xx - PM9 - Date unknown Purchased July 2011
ID17xx - PM9 - Date unknown Purchased July 2011
Edited to add a link to the GlockTalk thread at: http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1332374
Edited to add: This list over on GlockTalk is a volunteer effort with no connection to the Kahr company. Some people just like to keep lists.

That list seems to be a little behind. I just picked up a PM9 Serial: ID21XX, purchased 9/10/11

it is factory refurbished gun, with one year warranty instead of 5 years, other than that it willbe as late in all aspects of upgrades as a new one today. You shouldhave gotten it at a better price, some of these guns are actualy khar i house test/bench guns, so are blemished guns that were not perfect in some way or another. MOst allI have ever seen have the U on the trigger guard, maybe the B could mean blemished, but I still would think your warranty wouldbe oneyear over 5 and the seller shouldhave told you that before you bought it to. shame on him--he knew..

Of course the list is out of date and incomplete!
The list only contains voluntary contributions from people who want to share their serial numbers.
Feel free to post yours if you like.

no doubt some kahrt slides are not fit to be called FIRSTS we have seen tha there. I think wyn even got a light stamped on even. So maybe they have decided to take those rejectred slides that are not faulty internally but cosmetically only and put a gun together and sell it as such. No doubt it willbe the slides only thgat are at fault and if the price is right, onemight not give a damn either. I would be pissed if I bought it and wasnot told other wise by the seller, as I do believbe your warranty is now 1 year instead of the normal 5. I could be wrong but I know the refurbished kahrs stamped with a U were only one year. It would not bother me to own one if the price was right. Its a damn tool not a HOPE DIAMOND..

I didn't get a discount, course I got mine off of Gunbroker, but it has worked great and (except for not getting a discount) I'm happy.

The blem's and the Refurbs are not the same. The refurbs with the "U" are listed on Kahr's Q&A as having a one-year warranty and lower cost.
"Q. What does the "U" on the trigger guard of my pistol mean?
A. If there is a "U" engraved on the trigger guard of your pistol, it is a factory refurbished and test fired model (often sold as a "test fired" gun). The gun is considered to be used, will come with one magazine, and is sold with a one year warranty."
I believe the blems have lower cost and the 5-year "full warranty." They aren't listed by Kahr, though.

Did you buy yours new? Gun shop or Gun show?
have you found any blemish on your gun? I did find a very very small dent, about the the size of the take down mark on the frame....

It is a IC7XXX S/N gun. So looks like a recent vintage:confused:
If it is a Blemish gun; that would be OK with me; I did buy it at a very good price, about $100 more than a CM9.

Thanks for the info. like you said, "shame on him". I did get it at good price, about $100 more than a CM9 (I have one). Just goes to prove if it looks to good to be ture it is....
But I have only been able to find one small dent...dimple in the frame about the size of the take down mark on the frame....So all in all I am a happy camper; I just need to get to the range and fire a few hundred rounds to be sure.

unfortunately as with most anything, a factory 2nd or condition issue piece of merchandise isn't ever worth as much as a perfect model unless the article itself is linked to some signifigance. but if it makes you feel better inside think what you must

I think gunmut was just spoofing with that comment.....
Jeeze-leweez....
The solution is both simple, and elegant.
Just get another gun, same model, same finish.
Stamp an "A" in the other gun.
Now you got something... a "Matched Set" !!!!

After that 100 rds fired, my hand felt like I had been shaking hands with a pineapple; the rough fininsh helps keep a grip on the PM9 but is a little hard on the hand.
