Every third Saturday of the month, barring inclement weather, we hold a Tactical Match. I've been participating in these for two years, and have been involved in the design and running of some of the stages.
For a mature adult (senior citizen/old fart), it's great fun. You get to run and gun. Plus there is a lot of comradeship and gun talk.
Today we added a third stage to the match. We got to shoot rifle and handgun. Today I recorded my best scores on the targets I shot, but my times were not great. My old stubby legs don't move like they used to when I was younger. One stage we had almost 100 yards to cover on the run through the stage. I also had to engage 2 targets using my off hand/shoulder with my rifle.
It was a cool day with a very light sprinkle which made the smell of gun powder linger in the air. I loved it.
