My Dan Wesson Pistol Pack I won at one of the auction sites came in today. Man, I'm really glad I went the $5.00 over my limit as this thing is just beautiful. Looks brand new, the seller said he bought it back in 74-75 sometime and never really shot it that much, and you can tell. The cylinder just has a hint of the ring that forms on revolvers after a little use. The thing looks so good I almost just want to tuck it in a safe and never shoot it, but that's not likely to happen. It came with all the original stuff, 4 barrels 8", 6" 4" and 2", belt buckly, tools, 4 different front sights. Did I mention it was a beauty? I was stunned when I opened the box and saw it. Absolutly perfect. I say 99%. Here's a look at it, but pictures just don't show how good it actually looks. :D

Man that thing is just prime. The upholstery in the case isn't even dirty. I had that exact same package and I've kicked myself for ever parting with it.
Your a lucky man and it was a great thing you went over the 5 bucks, heck that won't buy lunch anymore.

Nicely done.

I hate you

I'm sick with jealousy

Did I mention I hate you?

............. I had that exact same package and I've kicked myself for ever parting with it.............

X2...except that I had two of them and sold both back around 1980. So, I get to kick myself twice!

What did they sell for new back then? CZ is making some model 715's stainless, I think with a 6" barrel for right around $1000. And you only get the one barrel.

I don't recollect exactly but I know I traded it for a 1000 yard match rifle worth half that. 500 bucks tops, much less I think, course that was 30 years ago.

Back then there were quite a few that had a tight chamber, had a friend that had just the gun and one barrel and it had just one tight chamber, he had a few other issues. Mine was flawless and never gave me any grief.

Boy was I dumb to trade it off. I loved it, don't know what I was thinking. Not thinking mostly I guess. I still have the rifle, love it too.

That's pretty cool. Excuse my ignorance but what is the caliber?

Glad to see you got such a nice kit. Good luck with it, and I say shoot it.
I remember lusting over those back in the day as well as the colt blued python. My friend still has his dan wesson kit except I think his was stainless not sure I will ask him today.

357 but they make a similar package (I think) in 44 mag). I know they make the gun, not positive they make a 4 barrel set. The 44 wasn't out when I had the 357. I want one of those too.

I hate myself!

That's a beautiful set! Congrats!

I had a Dan Wesson .357 back in the late 70's. I was trying to slowly work my way up to the S&W 66 that I really wanted. The chambers were terribly TIGHT. Reloads that would drop into a S&W would not go into the DW chambers. I had to run them back through the sizer after reloading them.

The DW had some nice features but I never had more than one barrel for it. I eventually got the S&W 66, but about the best .357 I ever had was the Ruger Security Six, and I think it was better than the S&W 66. Along the way I had a S&W 19, nickel-plated... still trying to work my way up to the SS 66. :D

They do have the packs in 44 mag, kinda rare. GunsAmerica has one right now for 900.
Thanks everyone, I just hope I can keep it in such nice condition. I can't wait to take it to the range. I wanna have a shoot out with my 629-4 Classic to see which is more accurate. The 629 has beat everything so far, it is a tack driver, but so is the Dan Wesson or so I've heard.

Don't hate me because of my gun, hate me because i'm an a-hole. :D

I used to have the 44 pack. Carried that with the 10" bbl opening week of deer season way back then. I could kill my old man for letting that one slip away to feed his habit.

The "cool factor" is a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10! I remember when they came out and always wanted one.
