Hi, everyone. I am new to this forum but have been lurking around. I recently purchased a new P380 with the black slide and night sights. I love this thing. I have put 200 rounds through it with only one stove pipe. I did lock open with ammo still in the mag a few times and also failed to lock open on an empty mag a few times as well. I think it was due to me touching the slide lock lever with my thumb while shooting. This little lever is very sensitive. I fired 100 rds. of the winchester white box, 50 monarch, and 50 federal and about 15 of the Winchester PDX1 hollow points with only that one issue and it was not a hollow point. Over all I am very happy but still need to shoot more ammo through it before I am fully confident in it. I am used to shooting glocks and my xd which never have had 1 issue. I have it in an Uncle Mikes size 10 IWB holster and it fits like a glove.
I did install a Pearce grip extension. It fits well and the grip is improved. The only thing is that I know have to bump the bottom of the mag to get it to seat. I guess it has too much material at the top of the extension.
I do have one question though. I did have brass hitting me in the face, head, and right arm. Should I be worried about this? Is it normal?
Here are some pics of my pistol.

Welcome to KahrTalk!
Nice looking gun. Hope the next time out it is completely without issue.
I think that the smaller the gun the more erratic the ejection pattern(s). Both my P3ATs throw brass every which way but thankfully never into my face.
UPDATE: from the thread "New P380"...
Got to plug.. Kahr gunsmith. My P380 started to throw ejected shells all over the place, in back, in front, over my head, off my forehead, and a hot casing in back of glasses...and get this... ejecting to my left. Gun had 400 rds thru it. Sent it back two weeks ago. Joe from Kahr called today. Frame was causing problem. Replaced frame and did some other work.Plus put 200 rds thru it to make sure it was working OK.........That Is service.. gun is being sent to my FFL holder
PS.. lotsa info on this site. I'll be lurking

200 rounds at the factory is certainly MAKING SURE THE FOKKER IS RIGHT before sending it back..

Thanks. I hope it shoots without any issues next time. I'm okay with the ejection pattern as long as it works.

I have just recieved mine back from kahr. I started to get brass thrown all over the place at around 800 rds also ftf, stovepiping, ftb. They have given me a new frame, extractor, striker block and recoil springs. Lubed and tested everything ok. Imo if you keep getting brass all over the place, send it back to factory. That should not happen. Its an expensive gun and you should be able to shoot the hell out of it. But that just what i think. If you just what to shoot 50 rds then thats a different story. I like to shoot what I carry. I am going to trade mine in now that its fixed, and get a 9mm dont know if it will be a Kahr or glock. I will tell you that CS at Kahr is great, they do take care of you. And good luck its a great little gun.

OT: If you want to pocket carry then the PM/CM 9 would be a great choice. Both the 9mm Glock 26 (my preference) and 19 (harder, IMHO, to conceal) would be good choices if you want more rounds in the gun over the single stack Kahrs.

That gun there is a good candidate (if there is such a thing) for some crayon work.
I find this practice intriguing. I have not decided whether I will do it myself or not. I guess it's like having white lettering on sport tires on a car. Some like it, others think it makes you look like a chode.
My impression is a bit tainted because my first exposure to it was someone doing it to a glock, and applying video effects like a cycling color palette and a wave effect to the video, and the guy narrating it seemed like he was missing a card or two from his deck.
So I am working through that and deciding whether it's a good idea or not.

Blasphemy! It's a beautiful gun and I don't think someone that paid extra for a black slide is going to start coloring on it. A gun is a tool for taking lives - coloring is for kids/artists. Furthermore, I wouldn't want to find myself facing a jury, and trying to prove self defense, with a colored gun. Just my .02.

Heh!
I was talking about highlighting the lettering, not coloring the whole gun. I've seen some of those retarded paint jobs. Basically, you rub crayon into the lettering really hard so it fills the engraving, then scrape off the excess, polish it up, and it looks nice.
Here is what I meant:

Looks, nice. But won't that come off? Why not use paint?

I wondered those things myself. One guy uses white-out, but it seems to me that stuff would attract dirt. Crayon would be dirt-resistant to some extent. Paint? I dunno, maybe it is too messy, dries on the slide and by the time you clean it off you've either scratched it or had to use thinner which messes up the stuff in the grooves?
These are just suppositions though. I have no real knowledge on this subject.

Seems like a cloth with some paint thinner in it could be used to wipe stray paint off the slide before it dries.

We'll, don't I feel like an idiot - sorry 'bout that. I've seen guys paint/color some hideous stuff on guns before and I jumped to conclusions.
