I saw that a few others have had this issue. I got a new CM9 with a 6 rnd mag. I bought 3 additional 6 rd mags (factory) from another vendor. Not sure if the cracked one came with the gun or not. Cracked where the arrows point. Hard to see in the pic. Note that the two mags weld seams look very different. The three non-cracked mags have a weld seam that you can see the tiny weld puddle. The cracked one almost looks like it was ground smooth. Found cracks because one of them is sharp and I can feel it.

I will have to return the cracked one to Kahr for replacment.

You can't see it in the pic too well but it is cracked in the middle also. It is about 3/16" below where the weld starts.

I am convinced that Kahr REALLY REALLY needs to contract out their magazine R&D AND their manufacture. Perhaps Mec-Gar? Are you listening Kahr? Granted these cracking issues are prolly few but, there are, from what ive read more issues with these mags than just this. Mec-Gar Kahr-c'mon!!
Here is a partial response that I received from Kahr CS when I asked about their mags and the reported problems such as splitting as two of mine did on day one w/my PM9.
I didn't expect them to and they did not say who makes their mags. Due to the volume of mags that Mec-Gar makes, I'm guessing they might make the mags for Kahr also.
We do not recommend customers modifying their mags. They are well engineered and made in the USA by the same people who make mags for the biggest firms in the industry. There are hundreds of thousands of the same mags that have been in service for years with no problems. Can an occasional mag have a problem? Of course, but the simple solution is to send it in as you did and we will replace it. Also, function problems that appear to be mag related usually aren't, it's best to send the gun in and let us sort it out.

It is unfurtunate and a PITA that there is a problem, but it sounds like there more than willing to make things right. Can't ask for more than that.

Make no mistake about it, I'm not faulting Kahr directly for the problem but it is "their problem" and yes, they replaced my two mags and when one follower of a replacement mag broke after only 12 rds., they replaced that in two days with 3 new followers (just in case was their comment).
I think Kahr mags are the Achilles heel that plagues them and until they get it right, it will continue to be so.
Other than the mag issue(s), my PM9 has been 100% after 3 range sessions and 967 rds.

I agree, and I can certainly understand the frustrations of the owners who are having this problem. It's just nice to see that there standing behind there product and not just blowing it off. I personally have never had the mag problem with my PM9. Maybe because it was made in 2010 and someone else made the mags for them at the time.
