ok, i've got an kahr mk9 elite and i've been thinking about buying holsters that would cover all my needs despite the clothing i'm wearing, no matter the 'sticky' situations i may encounter, no matter the weather (spring, summer, winter, fall). here are my choices in no particular order...

crossbreed minituck
remora iwb
garrett....silent thunder iwb

now, for those who carry a mk9, please tell me your thoughts on why i should buy ONE or more of the above. for those who carry a pm9, please do the same.

remember, i want it ALL.....comfort, functionality, concealment, comfort, and comfort.

p.s. i already have a desantis nemesis, wilderness gun belt, and a milt sparks belt as well. furthermore, i have a beautiful brommeland max-con 5 leather iwb for my mk9. boy is it PURDY, but.....

I bought the horsehide Crossbreed Minituck for my PM9 and use it for all of my Kahrs except the P380 which has its own. The Kydex outer portion fits all... K9, PM9, PM45, and P40. Retention adjustment is accomplished by belt tension. I carry IWB in the 4 o'clock position. Check the F.A.Q.s to see if you qualify for a 10% discount... current NRA member, any military, or LEO.

Check out Theis holsters. I like mine better than the Crossbreed. Combat cut is standard, not extra. Kydex is full barrel length to prevent barrel wear to your pants, and to protect front sight.
Another plus. $35 cheaper than the Crossbreed. And in your mailbox. The same week as your order.

what are the differences between a crossbreed minituck and the garrett industries 'silent thunder iwb' ??? why and/or what would be reasons for buying one or the other for a mk9 (or even a pm9) ???

Silent Thunder all the way, love the leather lined kydex! Very comfortable as well.

Me too, Silent Thunder all the way. The *they call em hybrid holsters) kydex on a piece of leather are without question very comfortable but they are also difficult to put on and take off. To me a ton of cow or horsehide for a very small gun.
The Silent Thunder with standard clip goes on fast and easy, it's tuckable, I'm wearing mine now with a PM45 and just letting my shirt billow a bit and it's hardly noticeable. I wouldn't go to market like this but around the yard or outside not an issue, goes unnoticed.
It's beyond comfortable for me, and I have not really been an IWB guy for a long time. My middle is swelling a bit, probably trying to keep up with my body builder upper body, like everything else they don't work for everyone. Jfootin wasn't quite as comfy with his.
Ron and Sheryl are first class folks who will make it right and do whatever it takes to make you happy. Genuine good folks.
I love the leather against the gun and the kydex on the outside makes it near bomb proof. I got two already and a few more on the want list.

Silent Thunder (http://garrettindustries.mybigcommerce.com/silent-thunder-holsters/) is an excellent choice as it hugs the body very well and the adjustable cant allows you to find the right spot for the grip and the draw.

I do not have an MK9 but have been told the pics I often link are of an MK9 in the Silent Thunder. Silent Thunder Slideshow (http://s762.photobucket.com/albums/xx269/OldLincoln/Holsters/?albumview=slideshow).

Finally, if for any reason you decide against the holster after you get it, Ron & Sheryl Garrett will give you a full refund minus shipping.

when it comes to cbmt and the silent thunder iwb, is one better than another for tucking in a t-shirt while wearing jeans or shorts? is one better for concealment purposes than the other? what about versatility of carry...since i don't know whether i'm going to like aiwb, 3:00, 4:00??? what about comfort? what about drawing the pistol...the s.t. is a one clip holster while the cbmt is 2...is one better than the other?

i imagine the silent thunder iwb is easier/quicker to put on and take off?? keep in mind, i'm purchasing a holster for either a mk9 or a pm9 if that makes any difference in the way these questions are answered. thanks all......nice forum, good peeps.

The CB probably wouldn't work appendix IWB carry, that would be like 1 or 2. It would work best from 3 to 5:30 or so.

The ST would work either location and is adjustable for cant. I think you can order different cants on the CB depending on where you want to wear it.

Both are excellent rigs, both very stable and secure. To me the ST is a little more versatile. I'm not sure on which would be better tucked, imagine it's about a draw in that arena. Maybe some of the CB users here can help on that part.

thanks bawanna.....great input. seems the remora doesn't get as much consideration on this forum as with others??? am i correct? not trying to muddy the waters here but it's also something i can see a use for....maybe not every day/every situation, but it certainly has some possibilities.

hmmm, seems it's a good idea to own a couple of holsters and grab the one that fits the day. not exactly sure what a remora will do for me that my desantis nemesis won't??? guess i'd have to use my nemesis to know for sure. geez, i'm sick.

I tried a Remora for my PM9 and XDM 9, returned both because they seemed too bulky to me. Great company though, and some people swear by them, just not for me.

An improved Crossbreed type made by Tommy Theis at Theis Holsters is my first choice. The Remora can get real wet with sweat. I like it for sub 17 oz guns best. Everyone here seems to love the Silent Thunders.

i'm getting the feeling all 3 holsters have their place in my arsenal. theis certainly looks to be everything the cbmt is but at a savings. remora, why not for 30 bucks? silent thunder....too many really like it, especially for the easy on and off and appendix carry. i guess i'd like to see a chart with the three different holsters mentioned (4 if you include theis) showing their respective strengths and weaknesses...which mentions all the different iwb ccw criteria (eg. comfort, tuckability, clothing, movement, holsterability -is that a word-, concealability, etc. etc. etc.)

again, i'm looking at these choices for a kahr mk9 elite and potentially a pm9... for what its worth.
