The only holster I am lacking for the CM9 is an OWB belt holster. When I had a Kel-Tech PF9 any 3 inch 1911 holster would fit. It opened up more options for holsters. Has anyone found a holster that crosses over for the PM/CM 9?

I found a great value in a high rise belt holster for my CM9. It is the Tagua Open Top Belt Holster (http://www.taguagunleather.com/new/open-top-leather-belt-holster-p21). Only $45 including shipping for a smooth leather lined, comfortable, easy draw holster that holds the gun high and tight right behind your hip (with a good gun belt). No better value out there.

How low is the muzzle with no cant?

How low is the muzzle with no cant?

Well, as you can see, it barely goes 1/2" or so below the belt. That's the beauty of this high rise holster. Real good for CC with a loose shirt over it. If you wear it at about 4:00 (or 8:00 for lefties like me), and use a good belt (preferably a gun belt), the gun will ride high and tight against your body and won't print. And when you are seated, the gun rides so high that it doesn't dig in at all, and the 4:00/8:00 carry means it sits to the side just enough to not interfere with the chair back. I use a form fitting executive office chair with very prominent lower back support, and yet the gun clears it. You could easily spend twice as much and not get such a likeable holster, and it probably wouldn't be lined, either.

The only thing I dont like about this one is the fact that you dont get a full combat grip. The leather covers the entire trigger gaurd so your fingers will be against the leather, instead of the bottom of the trigger gaurd. It will work, but not as well as one that lets your 2nd finger touch the trigger gaurd.

SBRGuy,

Actually, the holster is a little loose at the top, so the gun can rock forward enough to get your finger against the trigger guard as you draw. Plus, the smooth leather lining makes for a very smooth, quick draw. I find that I can get a perfect two finger combat grip with my trigger finger extended strait beside the trigger guard, ready to bend and contact the trigger as I am bringing the gun to presentation. A very good holster, especially for $45 shipped.

SBRGuy,

If you want a low cut holster with extreme combat grip access, look at the El Paso Street Combat Holster (http://www.epsaddlery.com/p-73-88-street-combat-holster.aspx) at $70 + shipping.

It is suede lined. A nice holster from one of the oldest holster and gear makers in existence.

Yeah, I forgot that you MAKE holsters! Duh! :nerd:

$55 with those decorations, nice! I'd go with the black thread, too.

Are you a lefty?

That's a cool holster! Do you do anything OWB with snap loops? Us lefties have to take our belts almost completely off to put a slotted belt holster on. Here is a beauty from RGrizzle....

I will agree with SBR guy, that holster has to much leather near the trigger guard, i understand what your saying Jfootin but to me your waisting more leather for something that is better off with less.

Everyone is different. Many holsters don't seem to have enough leather on them for my tastes, last thing I want is to stumble a bit and my handgun falls out onto the ground.

I like this style for sure. What is the retention like, I want it tight. Also, how is it to re-holster the gun, I don't want the top closing down?

Thanks! The retention is very good. I've been using that holster for quit some time now, on a daily basis and have never had the gun show any signs of movement. It is easy to reholster the gun one handed, although it does close down a small amount... maybe 25% of original. I may try adding a "stiffener" piece as an option, but I prefer when a holster does not have that additional thickness, unless really needed.

I like that, but it seems so long for a PM9/CM9, or is the picture just a little deceiving?

Any thoughts on this one?

It isn't any longer than it has to be. The muzzle sits less than 1/4" from the open bottom. It is a full coverage holster and the one above is not. It is a very high rise holster, and I know it looks long, but that is actually advantageous for concealment, and it is very comfortable when seated because the muzzle doesn't extend below the belt and dig into your hip.

I personally don't like the muzzle sticking out where it can bang against stuff and get scratched and marred. So abbreviated holsters like that one don't appeal to me.

Stumprat.... You may want to look at the Garrett Silent Thunder OWB (http://garrettindustries.mybigcommerce.com/products/Silent-Thunder-OWB.html). We talk a lot about the IWB model and how well it conceals, but the OWB version is also good.

I wish Garrett made an all leather version, you can choose between leather inside or outside, but not both apparently.

I'm not sure how I could do that AND keep the full combat grip possibility. I'll have to look around for other stright holsters and see how people make them.

Yeah, I wondered about that. I have a kydex holster that I have been able to adjust to make it a straight-drop while maintaining a combat grip but I'm considering leather for OWB.

We do make all leather holsters. I have alot of customers that like custom stuff you can't find anywhere else and leather is a good medium for personal expression. While the Silent Thunder line is an excellent, durable holster, limited color options and textures of kydex sometimes have to make way for aesthetics.
