I'm not sure I quite understand this statement.

I've been seeing these kinds of comments made all over the gun forums related to various subjects. Not something one would expect of a staunch 2A supporter.

Well, Surveyor, forgive a lowly "Junior Member" but I'm not sure I understand your statement either. Are you suggesting that a "staunch 2A supporter" must also be a right wing Republican? There are lots and lots of liberal Democrats like me who are gun enthusiasts and believe in gun rights but don't follow the NRA party line, which is 90% lies and distortion designed to create hysteria so they can fill their coffers in order to raise money to fund obstructionist right wing Republican candidates.
