Yeah! The CM9, until today illegal to purchase in the People's Republik of Maryland, has now been approved and added to the Maryland State Police Handgun Roster.

So, as soon as I can save up the money, I'll be adding a new Kahr to my collection. Alas I just spent my "new gun" money on a Ruger 22/45 for my kid http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=8233&highlight=ruger but once I can replenish that I'm finally good to go!

So that will be my second Kahr ... how many of these am I allowed to buy anyhow? ;)

Uh, isn't that a question more properly directed to your wife? :)

Indeed it is. Interestingly enough my wife and I talked about this while watching some TV waiting on some chili to heat up after she got home around 8am. I mentioned that some guys on some forums are always discussing how to get firearms into the house without wifey finding out. She asked me what I tell them that I do... Generally I bring them in and show the to her, she generally says "I told you we couldn't afford another firearm and when are we going to the range so I can try it out?".

Strange tho that she wasn't happy when I traded the handgun that she had bought for herself for a much nicer rifle after I had already replaced that handgun since it was to large for her to carry on her... :001_huh:

29 years of marriage and I am still confoundededed. :9:

I presume you know the mantra, "Yes, dear."

At only 28 years, I cannot offer any useful advice . . .

The one true fact about marriage: It's easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.

Maryland have a law on that too?

Don't live there but in NY state if you are to own more than 4 or 5 handguns (not sure) you are required to have a safe, and.... the authorities must visit you to inspect it (!). Just posting this to keep the Maryland thing in perspective.... In NJ there's only the 15 round limit on mags and the usual AWB nonsense..... but assuming you can get your friends to provide reference letters and receive phone calls from the local PD each time you need a batch of purchase permits, you can own as many as you like. As long as you buy them with 30 days between.

On topic, Congrats on the CM9 availability!!! If it is anything like my PM9 (and I'm sure it is) you'll have good results once you get one.

Kinda. Must be 30 days between purchases unless you're a "dedicated collector", plus the 7 day waiting period.

As for the wife, I just told her that we'd get it as a CCW gun for her next spring, when we visit my father in FL. I told her I want her to take the FL CCW course and get their non-resident carry permit, for when we travel out of MD. By then I hope to have saved up the money again.

What county do you live in? I've had a permit since 1979 and have never heard of this.
