Put about 60 rounds through this CM9 today and then suddenly the slide would not go any farther forward than this. Goes back fine. Don't see anything through the ejection port that looks jammed. Cant take the slide stop out either cause the slide wont go forward enough.

If it's completely unloaded - including the chamber, what happens when you pull the trigger while attempting to gently move the slide forward? Kahrs lockinh/striker pins are in the rear and the slide hast to clear them in order to remove it. Pulling the trigger moves them.

This is often the case, but yours may differ.

Tried that and the trigger is already relaxed too

Have you tried locking the slide back and then seeing if anything looks out of place with a flashlight?

I don't have a CM9, but I'm looking at my PM9 and wondering if your trigger parts might be out of position or something.

did this freeze up while shooting, or did vby chance you have the gun aprts after 60 rounds?? That slide lock locver looks very very close to being able to line up and come out. If u can see in that half moon cut out of the slide the half moon portion of the slide lock lever, it will come out, but might take a love tap on the right side of the slide lock lever pin to do so. Look up front on the slide and u will see a slight witness mark (looks like a scratch) and then .opok closely at the plymer frame, u will see a slight witness mark. If those two makrs line up then that pin will definitely come out with a love tap on the righgt side of the gun. If those two marks will not line up, then no love tap will help remove the slide stop lever. Somethng has happened in the cocking cam area

Looks like the slide has to come back a little bit to line up.

If it was apart, I wonder if you missed the barrel link hole and the pin is in front of it. That could be the culprit right there.

The slide needs to go forward about a half a hole to line up, so I dont think the pin will come out with any reasonable force. This did happen while shooting. I thought I had a misfire but when I looked the round was not into battery so I dropped the mag and ejected the round and that's when I saw the slide would not go fwd. I locked the slide back and tried to let it go fwd upside down too thinking something was hanging down from slide. When the slide is locked back nothing rattles either?

I remember a few week ago someone pulled their slide back without the barrel in and it got stuck. Someone explained how to get the slide forward by showing some pictures where they got a paperclip with the tip bent at a right angle and inserted from the back under the rear slide plate with and pulled something with the hooked end of the paper clip. I don't know where to find those pictures. But, maybe someone remembers and knows. Might that help here? Or you can take the rear slide plate off and see what is hanging the slide up. There is a sticky about a detailed stripping of the slide. That will give instructions on removing the rear slide plate. It is not hard. But do it in a clear bag. So, if anything flies out you'll catch it.

I gave the slide a good rap in the back and it went forward and now it seems to work normally. I field stripped it and inspected everything and dont even see where it was hitting? I may give it a good cleaning and head back to the range.

I'm grasping at straws here but have you tried to smack the back of the slide with the palm of your hand and move it forward?

Looking at the witness marks I can barely see it looks like it needs to go forward, looking at the takedown lever it looks like it needs to come backward till the nob on the slide stop lined up with the notch in the slide, thats got me cornswaggled right there.

Trigger is relaxed, will go back but not forward, not dissasembled but happened while shooting.

I'm perplexed. Pondering in progress.

Sounds like you successfully anticipated Bawanna's suggestion and it worked. Good job!

Now, make sure you visit the lube chart in the technical area and are a little extra generous with a high quality gun lubricant. We had a guy report problems who was using WD-40. Not so good.

Forgive me if I am "preaching to the choir."

Based on the message time stamps, you were both posting at the same time. It happens. D@mn computers. Can't live with them or without them.

Never fear. You are still "the man", Bawanna. :D

Cleaned it up went to the range and put 150 rounds through it and it functioned flawless. That was weird.

Glad to hear there was a happy ending to that odd happening. Something got hung up on something else...Maybe a small burr or flake of something.

Did you tear down the gun and clean and lube it before firing it the first time?

Yep cleaned and lubed it out of the box. Never figured out what it was.

Yes spring installed with narrow end on guide rod first. Has functioned perfect ever since that time.

ensure that the cam spring isnt broke. all u have to do is see if the trigger will reset. if so then ur ok. if not, u broke it. ur prolly ok but mine broke and kahr and i still cant figure out how or why other than just a bad part.
