I'm looking for SD ammo and am considering the Cor Bon. I just read some comments on youtube that Cor Bon uses two types of bullets; the Barnes and the Dakota. Supposedly, the Barnes reliably expands, but the Dakota does not. Link below - comments on first page.

Does anyone here know if Cor Bon does indeed use the two types of bullets? If so, how does one differentiate between the two?

Corbon DPX has the Barnes bullets.

CorBon DPX makes a decent SD round for a short barreled .380, particularly for a summer load. Here in Connecticut I'll switch to a different round because of heavier clothing being the winter norm. Up until this year I'd use 100 grain flat nose bullets; this year I'm carrying Hornady Critical Defense in my P3AT - which I just switched to a few days ago.

I have a 2010 lot of corbon dpx .380, 80-grain. Loaded with the inferior Dakota bullets, with a much smaller hollow point than the correct Barnes Tac-XP bullet. I called Mike at Corbon, who answered his ********* late on Friday night. He said that he thought all of those loads had been pulled from sale, and asked me for the lot number and a copy of my receipt. I emailed him both, and will update you all with the results on Monday. BUYER BEWARE, especially online; if the ammo looks different than the picture, call corbon.
