Hello. I have been stalking for awhile, and decided to join. I am looking at buying a Kahr PM9 in the very near future. I have done a ton of homework on primarily, pocket pistols, and the only gun that stands out amongst the others is the Pm9. I am looking for a BUG that can be carried everyday, no matter what I am wearing. I am open for suggestions as to whether I am making the right choice, and would appreciate any input. I have not ruled out the CM9, or the CW9. I do not own a Kahr but will soon. Thanks for any help that you offer..Mike

Welcome. For a super sub compact you cant beat the size of the PM9/CM9. I have the CM9 and love it. CW9 is a good shooter too just a little bit bigger. I traded mine for the smaller CM9 I have now. Both mine have been flawless.

Get the CW9 is the size doesn't matter but if like me you're infatuated with mini-guns get the PM9 or CM9. Either way you'll be satisfied I think.

suggest u read the kahr tech section on two good sticky's

#1 Kahr lube chart

#2 propper prepping of ur new kahr, there are some pointers there that might help u alog if a glitch happens. If u prep ur new kahr correctly and indeed READ KAHRS OWNERSW MANUAL. u will love the PM9. It is what it is , the nicest smallest, most comfortable 9 on the market. fully pocketable, extremely accurate and a gun u can shoot until the cows come home to.. This is not a carry often but shoot seldome ccw gun.. It is a tank.

Is the dlc finish the blackened slide model? Sorry. I am not familiar as to what dlc stands for. I am going to get the night sights, and I really have no input on which slide to go with. Mike

yes that is the blackened slide. durable as hell, super nice in looks proabalby har ed find in that finish with night sights on it. Just a suggestion the stainless slide finish is by most owners awesome.

Not sure what you said here.

It is going to be about a month before I can come up with the scratch to buy this thing, so I will have to check availabilty. I really do want the night sights.
I can live with either slide variation, but would prefer the blackened, as well..Thanks for the friendly welcome..Mike

Welcome to the forum!

If you're serious about pocket carry I'd suggest you take the CW9 off the list, IMHO the CM9 & PM9 are better suited for pocket carry. FYI, I'm not a big man at 5'10" & 160 pounds but find that my PM9 fits and draws smoothly from ~80% of my right front pant pockets. Going forward I will not buy pants that don't allow for comfortable PM9 pocket carry. BTW, my PM9 has largely replaced my P3AT pocket carry.

Be sure to come back to us with your range report - if not sooner.

Thanks, Bill. I am going to carry it as you describe. I am leaning real heavy towards the PM9, unless someone can talk me out of it. I truly can't wait. I bought a Sig P229 Gen 2, last month, and my weasel sack is about empty. It will take me a little while before it fills to the point where I can buy the Kahr. Thanks for your thoughts..Mike

I looked at several different firearms in the CM/PM size range and not only is the Kahr the smallest it has the best trigger pull. I found out on the other firearms that you had to either use the tip of your finger or slide your finger across the trigger as you pulled it back, which for me neither is good for consistent shooting. The only other option I would suggest is the P380. It is smaller and would be easier to carry in the pocket. Sure there is a lot of talk around the 380 round, but I remember the same talk around the 9mm a few years back.

for me I would pass on the P380. great gun when it works as such. We know the PM9 and CM9 are winners. go with the 9mm anyhow..

Unless you are going for the black slide, I would lean toward the CM9. It's essentially the same gun with the standard barrel (no difference in accuracy, longevity) less fancy roll marks on the sides. It is something on the order of 1/8" longer which doesn't affect concealment. And it's less expensive. You can buy the extra mag and your Silent Thunder IWB holster to go with the pocket holster.

From Hoghunter to Hognutz, I would recommend the CM9. If for no other reason, I already have run through one case of ammo and had another delivered yesterday. Get the CM9, save the $200, and use it to order a case of 9mm ammo online. Or you can get the PM9 and show folks that you have a polygonal barrel. I tell them I have a polygonal barrel in my CM9 because it sounds fancy and they could never tell the difference :lie:.
