Cerakoted slide by Easton Firearms Refinishing
Original gun had the stainless slide.
I'm beyond ecstatic about how it turned out, even better than I hoped for. The back cover is also black, just the right mix.
What do you think?

I think it turned out incredibly awesome. Looks really good.
What's the texture like or is it smooth as it was before?
Thunder71

Thanks!
Yeah, it's smooth... a little bit of texture by feel.

Looks great! I got the factory all black with night sights.
BTW - what did you do to the mag? The one thing I don't like about mine is the mag tears up my little finger on my shooting hand, the base is sharp. Would sure like to modify mine like this.
Thanks!

He still comes across as a tough ombre. Sort of like a mob boss's body guard. But the shirt and tie can't hide the bulging muscles. Remember, this is the guy who can rack the slide on a PM9 one handed, effortlessly, with either hand!

It looks great, Thunder. Does that finish cover the inside or underside as well?
That's certainly a more MANLY finish than the "Look! Shiny!" finish.:D

Yeah, it does look great, Thunder, but I think I would have sent them the slide release, too, and have them do just the visible portion.

I like it as is, gives it a little class and you can shape it or not worry if you ever have to replace it.
I don't associate manly with black. Nice to make a mod and not have to refinish. That being said I see a little of this cerakote in my future.

I think this is the base plate I ordered:

On top of it being less sharp, it also fits flush. :)

looks very nice, you can def see a little more texture vs the stock black finish.

Thunder, it looks great.
Still boggles my mind though that some folks will pay a premium for a black slide (like Kah'rs offering) and another for a dual tone (think Glock EXO), go figure. Guess as the saying goes... Different strokes for different folks!

Now that is definitely a fine finish. That's what I mean when I say I wish I had chosen the SS slide, deburred it and sent it off to be coated. Of course when I bought mine I didn't know squat about Kahrs or modern handguns in general.

Looks cool!
I'd send the slide stop to get done too.
Thunder71
10-07-2011, 01:22 PM
Yeah, I actually didn't want the slide stop done but I think it would look good black as well.

Well it might be a job related dress code or something. You know like your body guards furnished by the Italian mob.
I have a hard time dealing with long sleeves, ties remind me of Eastwood in Hang Em High. Can't breath.

Was valued at $70 for the slide, he removed all the internals and and asked if I wanted certain parts done or not (back cover and ejector come to mind). I was so thrilled to see it in the mailbox I didn't even look inside before putting it together hahaha.
I could have had an entire gun done, but really wanted this look for my PM9.

Hey, its the way you want it. Its your gun. You're the only one who matters. That's perfectly cool. :) :hippie:

Armorer black I think it's called.

That looks awesome. What was the turn around time? I know some of these companies take weeks upon weeks to get done.
I've been wanting either an OD green cerakote slide or a blackened stainless slide from Robar. Either way with stainless slide lever etc, like yours. Awesome combination of matte and shiny!

So far no issues at all, looks the same as the day it arrived after about 200 rounds.

Meaning you paid $70 to have the slide done in black? That looks awesome with the silver trigger and slide stop.

I like that. Did you have any problem putting it onto the stock magazine ? The product description says it wont fit kahr magazines with a steel baseplate

Picked mine up today. Looks Great! It's the Graphite Black color, baked on version. Matches perfectly.
Here's the whole thing.

Here's a closeup to see the quality of the finish and how well it matches. The subtle visible difference at the slide serrations is slight differences in lubrication on the surface.

Had it done at Hoosier Gun Coat (http://www.hoosierguncoat.net/) and he did a great job.
Nice nice finish... still toying with GunKoting my silver PM45

So, you sound like a brave guy. Do you like that shiny MK9 or have you thought about a full black Cerakoke finish on it too?
Just wondering.
