Well, I had ordered Meprolights for my pm9 before the gun ever came in. Then I read all of the horror stories from DIY'ers and was really scared to try.
I ordered the p500 universal sight tool and finally got up the nerve to try.
Much to my surprise, they came right out, no problems. Took about 5-10 minutes to remove front and rear. I noticed they had a lot of oil under the sights, maybe that helped......the hard part was actually getting the new sights in. Only about 1/8 inch would start into the dovetails by hand, so I filed the bottoms quite a bit and still barely went in..
One problem is there is not enough clearance from the side of the tool to push them in you end up backing the pusher all the way out and cant get the tip on unless the sight can be hand pushed about half way on. Instead of filing away, I just cheated and manipulated the tool without a tip, with the tip used
sideways as a spacer etc until I was finally able to push them home. More
frustrating than hard. If the pushing tip had another 1/2" adjustment wider it would have been much easier.
