I have a couple of pair of pants that have very wide belt loops. My silent thunder clip hits in exactly the wrong place when I wear these pants. Has anyone tried the offset clip option linked below? It looks like it accomplishes two goals for me. First it moves the clip away from my belt loop and secondly it reduces the overall thickness of the holster. Anyone tried this option and if so does it keep the holster stable? It looks like a great option. I cannot call the Garretts for an answer as they are gone all week.

It's a new item and I have not (yet) tried it, though it is appealing for the reasons you stated, however I'm not sure how much thinner it would be.

That's the way the Silent Thunder Slim is set up. Thunder is right, its a new offering.
When I ordered mine, got my 1911 first, I was going to go with the slim. Ron said it would work fine but it was somewhat less stable than the standard.
Now a person has the option of trying it both ways.
It may have been a full size gun issue and it may work very well for a PM size.
Ron or Sheryl could for sure tell ya far better than me. It's a great option for them to offer. Another very cool thing from the Garrett's.
I might give it a go on my PM45 one of these days although the standard clip works well for me.

I have the Slim II version that, as Bawanna said, is set up that way. As I have not tried the standard, I can't comment on how much thinner it would be, but as far as stability it isn't fantastic. To get it stable, you need to tighten it up a bit. I had some leftover sandpaper type grip tape and placed it where my pants contacted the holster which seems to work well.

Crazymailman, I think that is exactly the way Ron explained it to me also. You have to cinch the belt up a bit for the stability. He talked me out of it.
I have a similar leather holster with the clip about the same position and it's pretty much as you describe also.
Ron told me exactly how much thinner the slim is also but I don't recollect what it was. It was less than you might think. I like the concept and think it has merit but apparently some weakness's as well.

The difference in thickness is .125". The slim is good for appendix carry or even crossdraw where there is zero or even negative cant but any forward cant will quickly destabilize the holster. A better option to get around belt loops would be the tuckable belt loops. Just my two cents.

I agree with ron61. If the belt loops are too over size I'm sure Ron could modify that tuckable loop and I think theres a clip similar to the standard clip that seems to be made to go over a belt loop.
They'll make it work for you. No risk. If you don't like it, they'll fix it or take it back.
