After getting a new frame, I took it to the range for the first time. After the last round, the first round of the next magazine catches on the firing pin. Anyone know why? It does not retract pin after last round, so pin is sticking out when slide goes forward after a new mag is loaded. How does the bullet get loaded without getting hung up on the bullet when it works right??

take that slide off the gun and gived that striker channel a good spray cleaning, U can use that little clean out hole on the bottomof the slide. Have no idea what is causing it beside maybe some maching crude left over. insert your spray nozzle in tha thole and blow away and then pull back the striker at the same time and spray away again and fluids will come out the breechy face, and at the backof the striker. . I think there is some build up left in the striker channel..

Hi Jocko, thanks for the reply. I did just as u said, cleaned out the striker channel with spray. Then loaded a mag, same problem, the round is hung on the striker pin. I notice the striker retracks late in the load cycle. Do you think the striker is hanging up somehow, and slow to retract?? I can remove the striker from the slide if u think I will find the problem.
FYI, the work order says they replaced frame, slide stop, extractor and striker block.

If you've been inside the slide before that's what I would do. It's hanging up on something. If you push down on the striker block the pin should easily slide back in place and stay there till you pull the trigger or push the block again and let it fall forward.
Shouldn't be anything in there if they replaced that stuff but gotta be something that the striker is dragging or hanging up on not allowing it to return.

Yea, Bawanna, I think I am going to take out the striker block. This gun today shot the best ever, 80-90 rounds no lite strikes, accurate as all get out. It did not lock open on last round, but I can fix that with spring adjustment.

Did the work order say "test fired- shoots good"?

No, it didn't say anything about test or firing at all.

Someone else here had this problem. I think they had pics. I can't remember what they did to fix it. I'll have to look for the thread.

I think he owners manual covers that exact problem. Look in it for a solution.

It was mity2 on the k9 back in April 2010 and cleaning the striker channel fixed it. I cleaned the striker before I went to the range, and again last nite, no fix. After reading some other threads on this, I decided to oil and check the cocking cam per Jocko on another thread. After placing a drop of oil on each side of the cocking cam, I tested it and BINGO it loads the first round without jamming now. I tried every brand of 380 ammo I have and it seems to work. Next range trip will tell. Thanks to this forum and all of you, I am hoping this is my last P380 problem for awhile.

Looks like you may have it fixed. good!

I had that problem after I got mine back from its second trip home because I was having numerous problems with failures to chamber and eject etc. They replaced the slide that second trip.
I'm calling this new problem a "striker jam". Here are a couple of pictures of what I was dealing with. The second picture shows the striker is past (or forward of) the striker block. If I slightly pull it back it will click into the locked position. By the way my striker was so free in its channel that just tipping the slide a little was enough to get the striker to freely slide back and forth.

If memory serves me (whick is not a given) I talked to jocko and he thought it was out of time and needed to go back. I sent it back a third time and they replaced the frame. After it came back the third time on the first magazine the last round failed to chamber. I dropped the mag, pulled back the slide and it fell out the mag well, I let the slide go and it stopped short of going into battery by about 1/8" and froze up solid. I kept trying to move it while pulling the trigger and tapping on the slide and after about a dozen tries it mysteriously let go. I put about another 25 rounds through it and it worked fine. I totally disassembled it (slide included) and couldn't find anything that looked wrong. Later I remembered I did not go through the entire prep procedure when I got it back with the new frame so after I cleaned it I racked the slide 1500 times and I'll try that oil on the sides of the cocking cam before I go out next time. Where did you see that posting from jocko?

I'm still looking for answers...
I still think the striker is sticking out of the breech face.
