I got a pretty good deal on 500 Speer 124gr Gold dots and that has been the ammo that I have done 75% of my break in shooting with my PM9. I did shoot 50 rounds of Independent 115gr FMJ for my CCW qualification. There is a big difference in the way the PM9 shoots with these two rounds. Since I am going to carry the Gold Dots or similar, I am looking for a good ,cheap, similar shooting type of practice ammo. Any ideas? Vendors?

The Winchester white box from wally world has worked well for me over the years. Before then I shot thousands of rounds of Wolf for practice but got tired of how dirty the guns got and the issue of using steel cases. They also used to have a lacquer coating. Now I only shoot the WWB which is a little cleaner. I carry and shoot a 124 gr +P also.

Reload?? Might want to think about it. Doesn't save me squat, but it seems that me and the son sure shoot a lot more than when we had to buy manufactured ammo.

.45 auto is the same thing as .45 acp, acp just means automatic colt pistol, and yes that is what the pm45 is. Be careful not to buy .45 long colt or .45GAP by mistake.

That's assuming that there is any 45LC to be found. It's as rare as hens teeth around Indy.

I tried 100 rounds of reloads in my Glock 26 and the gun had no problem with them. However, when I took it apart to clean, it was dirtier than I have ever seen it before or since. The cost was the same as new Monarch 115G FMJs, ($12 for a box of 50) so I will keep buying them for practice.

Reloads are just like buying different varieties of factory loads. Try a load with a different powder and it might shoot real clean. I don't have a good recomendation to save trial and error as I don't load 9. Sometimes even the powder charge will change things. I've heard Vita voorhi (I'm sure I messed up the spelling) here before mentioned with good result. Might have been Zena? Never used it but intend to give it a try when time allows.
I'm with Steve 666, if you end up with some 45 Colt in error, send it to me, I'll take care of it for you.
I'm headed for a gunshow, a PM45 is on my wish list, not sure it will happen but we shall see.
For Fitzgood, I also use Gold Dot in my 40 and 45. I use the Speer Lawman and it shoots very similar, might be the same load with just a FMJ bullet. I wouldn't call it cheap but it's way cheaper than Gold Dot.

I dont know if its just the area or what but I'm in Cincinnati and everytime I go to buy .45 they always hand me the long colts first or at least ask me which one I meant.
