I thought all Kahr barrels were SS. If so, why do they nickel plate them?

they are stailessw steel. Nickel plate is more duralbe and less corrosive and easier to clean--so they say.

stainless can rust.. as there is iron in the stainless content..

I think I'm gonna get my body nickel plated. I just won't soak in a tube of hoppes. Don't want to get discolored.

Cant say that nickle is more durable... but it will prevent galling to a large degree, when two stainless parts rub on each other... like the slide and barrel.

Maybe that is why the nickel plate the entire barrel, have no idea about durablility. I just can remember back whent he M14 was in nam and they had alot of issues, they finally solved the probl;ems with I think chrome plated barrels and chambers. I know our Military Beretta 9 has a full hard chrome chamber and barrel.
