New to me P40 question

I just purchase this p40 used. How can tell how old it is and if their any problems associated with it and or any updates?

Also i got it home field stripped it cleaned lubed reassembled and then it started dragging and feeling like it is scraping bad. What gives did i do something wrong? I don't have a owners manual but i did watch the vid on Kahr's website.

go to the kahr tech section and hit on kahr serial numbers. It will get u pretty close to its birth date. I think it is an illusion more than anything with the left frame rail but it does look alittle cockeyed. was it dragging before u took it apart???

Have u went to the kahr tech section and hit on the lube charft. it is a dandy . might help u somewhat there to. There is a thread there also called propper prepping of ur new kahr, read it, some good tips in there. The slide does not ride on the polymer frame rails. Only on the long two rails in the dust cover up front and that back two steel rails. All the polymer rails do ishelp you guide the slide on properly..

Thanks. I did find out it's a 12/2001 model P40. I already had the lube chart but i did notice if i rotated the chart the frame in the photo looks the same as mine,so i guess that is normal.

I am use to Glock's and M&P's but this was serious dragging with a metallic scrapping feeling,almost like it wanted to jam. I'm going to change my oil for now. I kept field stripping and re-assembling and it quit dragging. I'm not sure what the issue was. It did it like three times in a row. I'm going to keep doing it and try to duplicate the problem.
