I carry 21 Federal 147gn +P HST rounds. 1 in the chamber + 6 in the mag + 2 - 7rd mags in my special covert mag pocket. Then don't forget my ninja 1.5" blade with Brass Pro Shop engraved on it! Ninja's don't need big blades. I can open my junk mail with this one just fine thank you!

Either you or the other guy should be down or have run out of range after the 4th or 5th shot......

I have to chuckle about backup rounds. I had a pair of 10rd mags for my 45 colt and could not believe how much heavier they were than the 7rd 9mm. I wear suspenders and thought I wouldn't mind the extra weight, but when walking, my pants would actually bounce like hung from rubber bands. This with 2" Perry suspenders. I got the "working man" version without elastic in the front and stopped that but changed out the 10rd for 7rd and rarely carry the 45.

Why not carry 8 round mags for your reloads? 8+8+7=23 Why stick with short mags when you plan on using extra mags.

I don't carry a reload for my 10+1 P2000sk 9mm, but if I did, it would be a USPc 13 round mag, instead of the standard 10 round mag.

In the same light, if I carried a reload for any of my Kahrs, it would be a 8 round mag.

Range.

I usually don't carry extra magazines, but when I go to the range I like to practice in as close to a fashion as how I carry.

I can do 51 without a reload in my Tommy. That's 11,730.

Anyone know where I can get an ankle holster for it? I got a message into Ron Garrett.

Today I visited one of those "highly restricted" places that make you do unnatural things to enter, and saw the coolest of tacticool uniformed dudes ever. I don't know if he's a poor shot or in training for mountain climbing, but over the top.

He had a taser gun hanging low from his belt and strapped to his thigh along with two spare cartridges. His gun hung on the belt on the other side and I saw at least 3 - 2 mag pouches around his belt, and a rather large flashlight. I couldn't tell if he had armor but must have. He really looked like a Marine heading out for door to door duty in the sand box.

I talked with him a bit and he said you never know what the bad guys are going to do (and bad guys are there a lot). My wife commented that it looked very heavy and he said it's really hard to run in it. I said that's what tasers are for and he said only up to 25'. I wasn't making any kind of fun of him and I know he could tell that so all was well.

Bet no bad guys go into THAT 7-11!!!! Okay, it was really a court house but I couldn't resist.
