I just purchased a new CM9 and am having trouble with it shooting all my defensive carry rounds high. I have tried pretty much every top carry round in many different weights and it shoots about 4 inches high at 25 ft. Anyone experiencing the same issue? What is anyone else using that shoots poi point of aim? Thanks

Not trying to be a douche but have you confirmed the aim by letting another shooter try it? Most range officers or fellow shooters will accomodate you. You could try using support while sitting to see if its the shooter.

muchocranium,
Welcome to the forums. Are you aiming by putting the front post dot just on top of the rear sight white post? I would shoot high if doing this with my CW9. Aligning the tops of the front sight and rear sight brought the impact down, but by aligning the sights this way, part of the front sight dot is covered by the rear sight. YMMV.

Greg

UPDATE: Oops! See I'm pretty much saying the same thing as the above poster... Sorry

Welcome to KahrTalk! Best of luck with your new CM9.

With my PM9, when I sight shoot, I have a tendency to "dot the eye" which results in my hitting high. When I line up the top of the front blade with the rear sight top the dot kisses the "I" (no longer a dot the eye sight picture) and the shots are now on target. I'm talking SD ranges not exceeding ~10 yards. Line up the top of your sights and see where the dot winds up in relation to the "I" then try shooting using that sight picture. Hope this helps.

I highly recommend you practice your point shooting as much as you do your sight shooting.

o doubt a change of sight picture is needed. a 6 oclock and a 12 oclock hold will pattern differently. IO think these guys have given u some good answers..

I had trouble wtih the sights also, dot the eye or have the front dot kiss the rear sight bar. Someone on this forum painted the rear sight bar black. I did the same and it helped me. YMMV.

Thanks for all that replied. I was dotting the i and not really paying attention to the top of the front and rear sight. I will try paying attention to the top of the sights the next time I'm at the range and hope that solves the problem.

probalby if u tried the POA just seeing the front sight u wll hit things at 7 yards and under consistently and fast. Not a target gun, so practice defense shooting. In a defense situati9on I can assure u , u ain't gonna see or remember what the hell sight pattern u had. Remember the front sight is ur friend, see it clearly and the rest will fall into place and u can get very very good with POa SHOOTING at 7 yrds and under and that is where ur kahr really start to shine to. Not to throw gas on a fire but if u think ur gonna have time to line up front and back sight properly in a critical situation, I think ur dreamin my friend..
