I've frequently likened the Internet to an unknown gun. Is it loaded or not?
I always assume its BS until proven otherwise. Keeps my blood pressure
level.

I agree. EVERYTHING on the internet is BS unless and until it is confirmed by at least 2 independant resources. I take NOBODIES word for anything without affirmation. Notbody is credible enough to take at face value. NOBODY!!!

I do check out a lot of stuff, especially the so-obviously-Photoshopped ones. I get all kinds of stuff and make a habit of not believing everything. I didn't just fall off the "turnip-truck"... it was a LOOONG time ago.

I have friends, relatives and acquaintances who fall for one America-ending, Earth-ending rumor and conspiracy theory after another. I try to tell them that 90%+ of it is fake, but they won't believe me. When I ask them what happened to the twin comets that were supposed to hit Earth from the South, or how the entire Gulf sea floor had cracks in it and was going to release an immeasurable amount of oil, how there were going to be forced evacuations of the entire Gulf region and people were going to be put in government concentration camps because of the Christian faith being so strong in the South, how the sun has an unknown dwarf twin in an extreme elliptical orbit that is headed back this way and going to reek havoc on the Solar System, the 9/11 government hoax stories, and on and on. Stories that they believed. And they have no explanation. Oh, but the latest one just has to be true. Yeah, sigh. These stories have photos and supposed secret government documents and published scientific data, and every effort is expended to make these stories look believable. It is an exploding new hobby/occupation for an apparently endless number of people all around the world to foment these hoaxes, although I'm sure a lot of them are still living in their parents' basements right here in the U.S.A. Quite a few of them are probably occupied right now with participation in the 'Occupy' protests. LOL!

Well the Reverend Harold Camping says on the world is going to end this Friday 10-21-11 and it is all over the internet so that makes it real don't it?...It was suppose to end 5-21-11 but something went wrong I guess...Oh well as agent 86 Maxwell Smart would say, "Missed it by that much"... I'm not worried one bit cause I got my tin foil hat charged up with new batteries and pleanty of duct tape and plastic to seal up the man cave with and lots of shotgun shells to hold off the zombies....Does this also mean that if the Rangers win the next two games and the world ends they get to win the world series???...:p...:75:

Hey, don't knock it...look how well it has worked out for the Global Warming crowd.

Woops...me and my big mouth. Think I'd better go find myself a hole and hide out from the Green Police.

Geez, now I gotta go through another day of waiting for the world to end?

I thought it was supposed to be next December 2012. Had big things planned between now and then.

It's unfortunate for us Christians that the Campings of the world forget important portions of the Bible that speak to such things:

"But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Mark 13:32) That said, I'm not quite sure why Camping would think he would know enough to put a date to it! But I digress (again)....back to the Senator's child....

I used to believe the same thing when I lived in Fairfield/San Bernardino/Sacramento/Santa Maria/Redondo Beach. It was depressing. But after I finally left CA forever reality began to slowly seep back in and now I'm happy again. What I'm now really hoping for is at least everything west of the San Andreas fault and east of the Hudson river.

The problem is, rats are very good swimmers. ;)
