New CM9 Owner Need Help

Hi, I just picked up my Kahr Cm9 from a ffl dealer. The gun have 2 hair line scratch one near the line that you have to match to take out the slide release pin out and one below the slide release. Is that a normal scratch you get from a new Kahr CM9 or other Kahr? Also the firearm doesn't have the factory ammo brass like most firearm do. The ammo brass that usually in a small envelope with information about when the ammo was shot and the name of the person that shot the firearm. Does This mean my gun was used? Please help! Let let me know if anyone on here that bought a kahr new that didn't have a factory brass. Also and their experience from ordering firearm from cheaperthandirt. Thank you for reading my post and hope someone can answer my question soon.

I just bought a CM9 here in Oregon and no fired cartridge here either. I know mine was new. The sales guy bought the box out from the back room, still had the "new" tags on it.

what tucson says would go for me. It is a tool, not saying it should be like that either but do u want to go through all the loops to get another gun????? Take the gun out due look up the kahr tech section kand hit on two good stickys.

I bought a new CM9 last week, it also did not come with a fired cartridge so that's probably normal (my 1911R1 also didn't come with brass).

Mine has a small scratch on the frame as well, I guess I should have looked at it closer in the store. Like said above it was probably just scratched by someone looking at it in the store. It's a polymer gun so a little scratch doesn't bother me, if it was a 1911 or BHP then I'd be upset. Anyway it shoots fine and that's what matters.

In my experience all the new pistols and my used P40 i have purchased in my state all came with the spent casing. I don't think my state requires it either, i could be wrong.

It's possible that guns destined for one of the states that requires the spent casing could be shipped to other states as well if the demand is there.
I purposely strive to find guns that are NOT California approved. That way I'm pretty much assured I'm getting a good one, just the way I'd like it set up.

Both of my Kahrs came without spent casings. Other pistols, various brands, all came with spent casings. Pistols were definitely new.

Oddly enough my XD with "high cap mags" did come with a spent casing even though it's not "legal" in those less than free states

My State (Michigan) doesn't require the spent test cartridge but I received one in my Ruger and in my M&P, not in my Kahr

If cosmetics of a gun are important to you, spend some time examining it before you accept it. Even mail order has an inspection period, FFLs do also.

New Mexico bought pistol did not have a fired cartridge either. I really do not see a problem.

I wonder how the law is written, as to how is kahr to know when they send a 100 guns to buds for resale where in the hell they are going . I know my Smith M & P did not have a fired case in it but I really never thought about it either. Indiana does not require it, but again how did the wholesale dealer know it was gong to Indiana etc. It is very confusing to me and I have yet to read where ONE fired casing has ever produced a crime or traced a gun to whom ever. Another failed bureacucy and further harrassement and expense to the gun maker and gun owner. Qite possably does maybe the final selling dealer have to fire that casing and send on to the local state people if their partricular state mandates it. That would make sense--I think..

I think the packaging is marked usually to indicate if it is compliant with the states that require such things. Bud's would have to ship a CA compliant gun to California. I think some manufacturers put a fired case in no matte where it's going, probably simplifies things by doing them all.

If I was a dealer I sure wouldn't want to deal with firing every gun to get a case. Course I wouldn't live in a state that required me to do that either so guess it don't really matter.
