Can anyone tell me what the difference is in the old style and new style P40 maintenance kits? I've searched on this forum, kahr's website and googled it and kind find any info anywhere.

Probably the recoil spring assembly, if so - I'm now fully educated on it.
Old style: 13 coil spring and shorter guide rod.
New style: 15 coil spring and longer guide rod.

There was a change in both the slide stop spring and the manner in which it is held in place between the old and new models. I assume this is the primary difference. All of the other parts I believe are interchangable regardless of the production era.

thunder 71 is right.. as is riplyey 16 but he is going back further in production years on the slide stop spring and the manner it is held in place..

Ummm......!3,15? I counted mine and my 2001 P40 has 21 1/2:confused:.It has a full length stainless guide rod and the slide stop spring is held in place with a flat head screw instead of torx everyone else has mentioned in other threads. So what the hell is mine?
