I've got about 150 rounds through my new PM9 with good success. Today, at the range, when I pulled the trigger all I got was a click. Thinking it might be the bullet, I tried another round with the same problem. Then, I noticed I could pull the trigger multiple times and it went click every time, like some kind of double action pistol. So now, instead of a functioning PM9, I've got a little clicker toy gun. Any ideas?

Any ideas?Did you prep the gun with a proper cleaning and lube? I assume you racked the slide inbetween clicks.

If after a proper cleaning, you still have a clicker. Send it back to Kahr for repair.

check to see if the striker/firing pin is not broken. If u heard a click, u must pull the slide back at least a 1/4" to reset the trigger. being u have shot a 150 rounds you know how the trgiger feels when all is right. How does iut feel now to u. do u think the trigger is aqctauly engauging the striker and pull it back anbd release it? If so u cold have a dirty striker channel or a broken striker.

if all that is OK, call kahr and ask for jay or eion kand state ur issue and have them issue a prepaid pickup on ur gun.

The trigger doesn't feel like it's engaging anything. I guess I'll send it off for a trip to Kahr.

So its not really a click, click it's a dead trigger, no reset? I'd lean towards trigger bar or trigger bar spring fell off.

When you rack the slide, the trigger is not resetting?

it should not be clicking then but just a smooth "nothing".

I've just noticed that when I rack the slide it doesn't go into full battery. Just about a 1/4 inch from full battery. When I press it into full battery, it feels like a spring being compressed and if I hold it in full battery, the trigger works normally.

After taking apart and cleaning correctly, it still doesn't go into full battery unless I push on the end of the slide and hold it.

I think I figured out the problem. The end of the recoil spring assembly isn't fully retracting into the slide housing when the slide moves forward. Looks like it's catching on the rim of the housing. If I push on it sideways, then it slips fully into the housing and everything works like it should.

You can open the end of that spring up just a bit and when you install orient the end of the spring towards the barrel or up.

That sounds like it could surely be the issue and what a simple fix if it is.

Yes, the circular nut on the forward end of the recoil assembly is catching on the outside of the hole. I'll call Kahr but will probably try reshaping the back end of the circular nut a little. Thanks for everyone's help

Mine has done that sometimes upon reinstalling the slide for some reason, I just mess around with it and it goes bak inb OK. I wold not mess with that hardened nut.l. that isnot the issue, sometimes it is the way we reposxition the recoil assembly. I agin wold say l.eave the nut alone. There is really nothing wrong with the recoil assembly IMO..

I called Kahr and they're sending out a new recoil spring assembly. If that doesn't work, I'll send it in for service.

I'm beginning to think that Kahr received a lot of bad recoil spring assemblies from a supplier and is replacing them on an as needed basis rather than issuing a recall. My CM9 was doing the exact same thing and a new recoil spring assembly was the cure. The new spring was one coil longer and quite a bit stiffer than the original. My CM9 now runs like it was in the Indy 500.

The saga continues. Kahr sent me a new recoil spring. It looked a little different in that my old one had the inner spring assmebly sticking out of the larger one. The one Kahr sent did not. I carefully assembled the gun ( done this successfully several times) with the new recoil assembly and after racking the slide once, now the slide won't move at all. I talked with Kahr and they're sending me a return FEDEX label. So, off my gun goes to Kahr.

Keep hoping they learn from their mistakes, like what happens when they send back that particular spring for that particular gun. They should be asking foe the serial number of the gun and know exactly which part from that. I also wish they would let us know what the issue was but they likely won't.

I'll report back what happens. I had a pm45 for a while that never got reliable, even though it went back to Kahr. I was hoping not to have any problems with the PM9. In the meantime, I'll just carry my .357 Rhino. It's a great gun, but so ugly I have to put it on in the dark.

The saga continues. I'm impressed. My PM9 arrived back from Kahr yesterday. Less than 10 days from me to them and back. The paperwork said they replaced the recoil spring assembly, lubed and test fired the gun. It will be a few days before I get to the range but I'm hopeful that it's fixed.
