I'm looking for the thinnest, non-kydex, pocket holster for my 380. I'm thinking horsehide is the way to go, but want to confirm. If you offer suggestions, please provide a link as well. I just browsed the Galco horsehide holsters, but they don't have one for the p380. Thanks.

This what I use for my CM9. The El Paso Pocket Max. Here is the best price on one for your P380:
http://gunholstersunlimited.com/el-paso-pocket-max-pocket-holster-ambidextrous-natural-p-3at-ruger-lcp-pmktat-1.html?cat_id=79
It says it will fit the LCP and the P3AT, so it should fit the P380. You can call El Paso and ask:

EDIT: This holster is THIN, per the OP's inquiry. The horsehide is stiff enough to allow reholstering, but does conform to the shape of your leg. Note how the leather is sewn together into thin strips front and back which serve as hooks and also spread out the bulk and minimize printing. It is smooth side in for an easy draw. The entire gun, slide and sights are covered, yet it provides a clear combat grip.

I'll check my holster stash and see what I can come up with. I should have a sample it two to show you.

Here are a few to check out. Thin is one thing, but you also want flexibility so the part of the holster that breaks up the print of the gun takes on the curve of your thigh over time. These holsters are all in my dead pool at the moment because they are thin, but don't have the flexibility that I look for in a holster. They are all good holsters, but my tastes have changed over time.

I'm currently using a Remora Size 2 and really like it. It can be used in the pocket or as a clip-less IWB.

The DeSantis Nemesis is a nice, thin and stable pocket holster for your 3.80. The price is right also....approx. $15.00

I have several different pocket holsters, but my favorite is the black Kahr pocket holster for the PM9. The P380 works well in it as well. It is very thin, and has the flap that makes it print like a wallet. The three pieces of leather only add .190 inches according to my calipers. They also have one that looks to be a bit smaller for just the p380.
What I really like is that the flap lays flush against the gun when in your pocket, but has enough spring in it that as your hand goes into the pocket it moves away from the grip giving you a clear hand hold.

Good suggestion, Dave. That's a nice looking holster!
Kahr has put some good thought into the holsters that they offer on their website. And they have a lot in stock, whereas ordering from the manufacturer might involve a considerable wait time. Here's the link:

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'll give the Recluse a try, unless anyone has anything bad to say about it.
FWIW - I just received an IWB holster from PJ holsters (thanks JFootin) and really like it. Customer service was top notch and I received the holster in less than a week. However, in seeking the thinnest IWB holster, I also have a FIST ultra thin on order. I have no doubt that the PJ is the better holster, cheaper too, but I'm curious to see how thin the FIST is. I didn't have any luck finding good pictures on the internet. I'll post some comparison pictures after I receive the FIST - probably in another two to three weeks.

I'd love to sell you my Recluse, but I still use it for cargo pocket carry on rare occasions. If you can get past the trigger block, which took me a bit to get comfortable with, it works great in small cargo pockets.

I just got El Paso Pocket Max (pictured above) for LCP and it fits P380 quite well. It is an amazingly thin holster. However, in time, it will start printing because it is so thin even though it is horsehide. I did have an old piece of thin, very stiff leather from the Ross holster specifically made to break the outline of a pocket holster and it happened to be the same size as the Pocket Max. I put some velcro strips on both the holster and that piece of leather and now I have the thinnest pocket holster combo for my P380.

The best holster for a P380 would be the one that keeps it hanging at home in your gun safe. Carry something that WILL dependably go bang when you actually need it to.
If you take my advice you will not carry this one if you (really) could be in any life threatening situations. It is far too unreliable a weapon for that.
When they are spotlessly clean and VERY well lubed then they only work some of the time - I shudder to think what might happen if a little dirt or water gets in there in a real emergency.
I can actually (almost) claim that I have had two of these since Kahr replaced so many parts in their recent repair attempt that it was virtually a new gun that came back. Both were reliability dogs!
Just my pennies!

That response did not belong in this thread and if you want to vent your anger everywhere on this Kahr forum do it all at once at the top and leave because as much as I understand your frustration, you should just get rid of the gun, get something different and the life goes on You are mistaken if you think that by posting these messages everywhere you are warning potential P380 buyers.
Just sell the gun and move on to another forum

I disagree. Anyone buying a holster for it probably intends to carry the gun and they might be betting their life on it actually working. (eg. an off duty police officer for example).
They really SHOULD know ALL the facts.

Bob, I've seen your rant all over the forum for the last couple of days, and it is starting to stink like dog poop. I don't think your membership on this forum is going to last much longer unless you stop this. Do Bawanna a favor and clean up the poop (delete the posts) so he doesn't have to.

Excuse me? what "rant" exactly?
I have only truthfully reported the facts regarding my own P380 experiences. I am 100% the victim in this - please don't try to turn me into some kind of villain now because you don't like what I am saying about that pistol.
My P380 experience was and still is a nightmare - is that now MY fault?

What I am saying to you, victim, is to start your own thread and stop pooping all over everybody else's threads.

We all know your P380 experiences. You've posted them a lot here. The OP is asking about holsters, not unreliability of P380s. Tell him about your P380 pocket holster now.

When I had my P380, I used the Blackhawk size 3 and it worked fine.
Now I'm carrying PM9 and still use the Blackhawk size 3
I've used many diff holsters and find the Blackhawk size 3 is most comfortable and easy to draw when needed.
