If Kahr sent you a voucher for 2 free pistols of your choice (no duplicates), what would you have them send to your door??? Why???

ripley16

T9 and a K9 Elite, because these are the best models currently made, IMHO.

They'd have to send them to my local FFL though, but that's OK with me. :D

MK9 and CM9

Because I WANT THEM!

Bawanna
10-26-2011, 11:57 AM
I'd go a MK9 and a T9. The MK cause I want one and I could use it to make grips. The T9 cause I just always wanted one and I could use it for the same I guess. Plus I'm trying to suck up and fit in with the 9mm guys around here, I just want to fit in and be part of the group ya know?

My son's starting to drool a little when he holds and shoots my PM45 so I might have to adjust my wish list if he tries to steal it.

PM9 and a P380. I really want a P380, I'd get it to function properly somehow lol. And the PM9 black with night sights is just so damn sexy...

I'd go with a MK9 Elite with wood grips because it is so beautiful, and a P380 Black Rose because I think it is the most beautiful 380 there is (I figure if I got it for free I could afford whatever is needed to get it running right).

A little off subject but, Bawanna, if someone sent you a set of wood grips from their MK9, could you hone them down to make them Bawanna Super thins and recut the checkering (refinish, too, I guess)?

MK9 and CM9, I already have the PM9 so holsters and ammo are waiting for them.

Your suppose to say what Kahrs you'd want with your voucher Jocko.

I'm putting you down for a PM45 and  PM40! Both ported and shot like you stole em of course.

That oughta impress the chicks with your pocket carry.

Edited to add- I do have a line on some Koa maybe. It often times is a naturally pink color. Could be a fast mover for sure.

For me it would be:
KP4544N
and
KP4543N

Both P45 one is black and the other is not. Both would be KP4544N except the rules are different models and I'm kinda shaving the rules as is. I want 45 and the P45 is the only Kahr 45 legal in CA. If they didn't carry just right, I'd cut them down to PM45 grip size - snug mag fit that way also.

Good plan Old Lincoln. A covert PM45.

Love the addition to the signature line too.

I'm tempted to add "Watch for snow drifts" to mine. Maybe landslides would be more appropriate.

Believe in or not, thanks to the generous folks on this forum, I was more or less in that position a few months ago. It was one gun and I chose a PM9. The main reasons for the choice was that I wanted a pocket gun and I had 1500 rounds of 9mm on hand and nothing that shot it. All my 9mm pistols had been stolen except the old C9 car gun and I never shoot it. Had it not been for the surplus of 9mm ammo, I would have been torn between a PM40 and PM45.

I'd have to go with an MK9 and a T9 to go with my K9.

A black K40 and a P380. The K40 to complement my existing Kahr PM9/MK9/K9 stable and my .40 Glocks. The P380 because I'd really like to have one to mess with but not to the point I'd spend a lot of money to buy a sub-caliber, anecdotally troublesome gun.

as the replies to this thread are pouring in.....an idle thought: i'm somewhat surprised at the MK9 love being shown. it's almost to the level jocko has heaped upon bawanna, deservedly. also, i'm somewhat shocked that a model (number withheld at this point) i believed would be close to the top of the list has been nearly overlooked. perhaps everybody owns one???

maybe i should have added that it's okay to choose a kahr that you already own IF you feel that strongly about it? hmmm

ok, back to the thread........the 2 kahr's YOU would pick???

tv_racin_fan
10-26-2011, 07:09 PM
I chose what I chose because I prefer the steel framed Kahrs. I already own 2 K9s and don't care to own a different caliber.

Thus the MK9 specifically the M9093N and the T9 specifically the KT4043-Novak would be my choices.

Ubaldo99
10-26-2011, 07:29 PM
That's an easy one for me: (1) P380 Black Rose because its pretty and also because I am frustrated with my Ruger LCP; and (2) PM40 Black because I think it looks cool and because I would like to have something in 40 caliber. So.... these "vouchers" you spoke of... will they be coming in my mail soon? Please?

All of them! My uncle says, "Why limit yourself to two?" If it has to be two, MK9 and TP9. And I'd let uncle B borrow my MK9 until he has whittled enough grips to return it to his favorite nephew who also has his eye set on that PM45.

Well, of course you are talking about the CM9, but I already have one, so my choice of the MK9 and P380. If I did go for a small 9, with it being given to me I would take a Black PM9 with night sights.

Well now that we can pick one that we already have, crap, now I need 3. I still want the MK9 and the T9 or even  a T40. (I could get it ported and wear a welding glove to tame the vicious recoil on my sensitive girlyman hands.) But I'd definitely like another PM45 in case in the highly unlikely event I wear this one out, I want another one just like it.
Don't worry nephew, I'd send it to you straight away to take care of for me. Do you want a shiny correct one we can polish and fix dings on or one of them black ones you can't see in the dark that the mall ninja's like so much?

Your call, I could go either way.

actually, i was expecting to see, overwhelmingly, the pm 9. why go for the cm9 if you're getting a gift? the k9 has been seldom mentioned and that surprises me. seems to me the k9 would be a very popular choice

Choices choices! I really like my shiny correct PM9 so a shiny correct PM45 would be sweet but I like to accessorize so the mall ninja PM45 would be nice and give good options. What the heck i'll take both!

ripley16

It's very reliable, I shoot it pretty well, small enough to easily conceal (if you carry), full three finger grip, not too heavy to carry all day but not too light to punish my hand in recoil. I'll go out on a limb and say that the K9 is almost universally recognised as one of the gun designs that "fits hands" well, that it feels good when you pick it up. I don't get that from the smaller Kahrs. Like the in Three Little Bears, "this one feels just right."

Besides... I got a killer deal on it.;)

My only complaint is that the takedown of the K9 (and MK9) is more difficult than the T9 or polymer framed Kahrs

Bawanna
10-27-2011, 10:34 AM
AND it's all steel, can wear a variety of pretty wood handles. I much prefer the take down system on the K series over the tupperware. Much stronger, much less to get tweaked out of place.

A K9 is the first one I ever laid eyes on and looking at the inside of that thing was just a proverbial thing of beauty. I'm not a machinist, couldn't carry a machinist lunch box but I know pretty machining when I see it.

The rest you might say is history.

If you want a K9, I'd not hesitate to continue the search and call one your own.

Holy Moly Batman! I saw the Modern Marvels thing last night building the ZO6 and all I can say is super WOW. Of course it's probably illegal in CA, but what a machine. I'd love to see and put my hands on one, if I had help getting in and out even drive one around the block just for appreciation of a marvelous invention.

Now back to the regularly scheduled thread.

You know it suddenly occurred to me that there are many more options under the Kahr heading. Think Magnum Research, Auto Ordnance, Thompson, a little something for everyone.

What do you think Pop, does it have to say Kahr on the slide? I know I hang here alot but it's your thread and you make the rules. I only bend em if I don't like em.

If a new one is too high, I think a 56 or classic 63 would be way too high. My thoughts are, if I don't spend it now, my son will waste it on Glocks, and we can't have that now can we?

I'd have them send me a pair of 1911 A-1. They go bang every time you pull the trigger and don't require a two hundred round break in period, or several trips back to the manufacturer for repairs. Forgive me, but I'm a crabby old man.

I'd go for an MK9 Elite with Novak Night Sights...and a set of Bawanna's grips! I"m a sucker for beautiful wood grips. The other would be a .22LR conversion kit for my PM9 (with KAHR on the slide, of course!).

Well if it be a true dream, a K45 and T45, if we are limited to whats in production now, K40, and perhaps a TP45 for me. Then again, I wouldn't mind a PM40 or anything that is not at least 40 or 45 from Kahr, I'm not picky.

this thread actually makes sense to me.....yeah! it's pretty simple, get the best kahr you can stick in your pocket...and get a good shooter?

hmmm, maybe i'll get a pm9 and a k9 elite (gots to have my steel)? i'm starting to see some light. heck, i might even stuff a k9 in my coat or hoodie pocket (inside a pocket 'nemesis-type' holster, of course). there's plenty of room. yeah! the size and weight of a k9 wouldn't be much, if any bother. if the size of a k9 in a coat/hoodie pocket is a problem, i'll just use my mk9 elite that i just can't seem to find a use for. yeah, i'm sure kahr makes a better range guns than the k9, but the k9 would be plenty good. yeah!

maybe it's time i order a silent thunder for both the k9 and a pm9 and i'm good to go. wait, i'd better get a couple of new guns first~!!!~
