Does this look right to you?

One thing I've noticed about the spent casings of .45acp is the odd shape on the primer.

I've never seen anything other than a dimple from my other pistols. Is this a sign that something isn't right?

Nope,this same question came up one time before and the odd looking mark is normal.Nothing to worry about.

Nope, nothing wrong. I have seen it with other handguns, can't say what they were as it was cases I picked up at the range (not my caliber). Seems like what it is is the firing pin remains in contact with the casing as the casing starts to eject. Kahr even claims that the casing might hit somthing on the way out and get bent a bit out of shape. There is a note in the manual bottom of page 20 or so.

I have seen this as well on firearms that were functioning fine. I am not too sure what it means. Maybe its the new coding system on casings when fired:19::86:

It's a common dimple shape seen on striker fired pistols because the striker lingers on the primer during ejection. Most hammer driven firing pins retract qucker and thus don't leave an elongated dimple.

Well that's comforting. I'd been getting more FTE's out of my P45 than I like and was wondering if this was part of the problem.

I won't be able to get back out to the range unitil the first part of next week and it's killing me. I want to run another couple of hundred rounds through her to see of the FTE's will go away.

READ THE MANUAL. It states that primer mark is OK..
