Just found this forum and decided to sign up and thought I would introduce myself.

I am anxiously awaiting a CM9 which should arrive by weeks end (hopefully) as well as my CHL permit (which will hopefully be here next week).

I considered getting a Glock 26, but ultimately decided that it was a little larger than I wanted to try to carry around everyday. However, I suspect that I will end up with one at some point.

I also considered a Kel-Tec, but concerns about long-term reliabilty scared me off since I intend to practice, practice, practice with the CM9 so that I can handle it proficently. Additionally, I may want to shoot it in an IDPA match or two.

Currently, I am looking for a tuckable, concealed carry holster and am welcome to suggestions. I wear a sport coat and dress slacks during the week, with the shirt tucked in, so I am looking for something tuckable. I am NOT interested in a shoulder rig though. I am up and down all day, so I don't know if appendix carry or on my hip around 4 - 5 o'clock would be better.

I have looked at the Silent Thunder as it appears to be something that I could try both on my hip and appendix style.

I have also considered the Crossbreed SuperTuck, White Hat's Max Tuck as well as offerings by Comp Tac and Old Faithful but am not sure a hybrid is really what I want.

There are some beautiful all leather offerings out there from Tucker, D.M. Bullard and others and while I may ultimately end of with one of their offerings, it looks like I would need to plan 4 - 6 months in advance for anything from them as they are so busy. (A good thing for them, but not so much for me.)

I look forward to learning from the experience of others and contributing in my own way, if possible.

Thanks for having me!

Welcome to the forum! Take a look at two stickies in the Kahr-Tech section: Proper prep of a new kahr (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521) and Kahr Lube Diagram (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521). Look at the Crossbreed Mini Tuck, made for smaller guns like the CM9. They have optional Velcro clips that will entirely eliminate anything visible on your belt. Frankly, I think those long metal clips with crosses on them are very attention grabbing. But that setup would provide unmoving stability and all day comfort with your work attire. JMHO.

Thanks for the welcome and the mention of the two stickies. The link on the Lube Diagram is off, but I found the stickie you were referring to.

I have been thinking of the Velcro clips as opposed to the bigger, metal or kydex ones and will more than likely go that way and will take a look at the Mini Tuck as well.

Thanks again!

Thought about pocket carrying, but am afraid it will be too much in dress pants. I can always try it though.

The P. J. Holster IWB with Kydex clip (http://pjholster.com/?page_id=37) is the perfect holster for these guns! I can wear mine all day and have to reach back there (8:30 for me, a lefty) to confirm that it is still there! Perfectly comfortable. Very concealable - the gun sits up tight against your body. No printing. Without a shirt on, I can face someone and talk with them, and they'll never see the gun unless I turn at least 45° to the right. The holster is not 1 mm longer, or wider, or thicker than it has to be to do the job. Easy on and off with the clip, yet stable with that wide clip over a good thick belt. Here are 2 pics of Coach Paul's PPS in one:

Welcome to the Forum, Avenger. I think you'll be pleased with the CM9. I have one and I really like it. I pocket-carry and the DeSantis Nemesis holster works well for me. Good luck and congrats on the purchase.

To me, while you could tuck your shirt around this holster, it would not be considered a tuckable holster. In my mind, a tuckable holster would have a belt clip that with an attachment point at the lower end of the clip that would allow you to tuck a shirt down 3 - 4" or so around the holster.

Not a perfect tuck, I know. But at least I could get some of the shirt below belt level.

Are you doing so in dress slacks or in pants with a heavier fabric like jeans or khakis?

I am concerned about the weight of the CM9 in the pants pocket of my dress slacks because of the light fabric weight.

I didn't think that was going to be much of an option with the longer wait times, but it just may turn out to be.

Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Thanks for the link and pointing out this sticky to begin with. Good stuff in it and the Proper Prep link and it looks like I will get to put them both to use pretty quickly as my CM9 is showing that it will arrive tomorrow.

That will certainly make for a long day waiting at the office tomorrow! :)

I have found that to be the case so far and it seems apparent in the many threads I have read thus far.

Yeah, this is a special place. No other place like it, in or out of the gun focus. :)
