All of the old cliches apply here. (Gun control means that you feel a 120lbs. woman has a fighting chance against a 220lbs. man.......etc )

Repeat offenders have very little fear of the law. When one of those low-lifes do encounter an armed citizen, it usually gets resolved without injury and it usually goes unreported. Therefore, it never occured. It is not a statistic that can be readily pointed out.
Carry the gun. Stay alive and stay out of the headlines.
