I've been reading on some gun forums that Bud's Gun Shop has been getting slow with shipping. I'll admit that my last purchase took 5 days to ship, but that was two days before Christmas. I ordered a used S&W 410S with CT on Sunday at 5:00 PM. It shipped at 2:30 AM this morning and is already in Atlanta and scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning at my LGS according to UPS tracking. I wouldn't call that slow!
BTW, the pistol is rated at 100% [like new] and was $429 with free shipping and the CT laser mounted. I don't consider that a bad deal.

I think any discussion of new weapons should require a picture.
Even if that picture is not the exact guns, but a good example of it.
Bawanna,
Please raise this important issue with the powers that be.
Thanks

I placed an order late Sunday night and tracking shows it to be delivered to the FFL tomorrow.
Likewise, the accessories I order are scheduled to be delivered to my office tomorrow as well.
I thought that was more than adequate.

I had a 4516-1 that looked much the same.
I believe that is a 10mm if my memory is working.
Great guns.

Stainless slide and alloy frame. That cuts the weight to 28 ozs. With this one, I'll have eight alloy framed pistols and seven polymer - no steel. the lightest is the polymer LCP 380 at nine ozs and the heaviest a Springfield lightweight Loaded FS 1911 45 at thirty ozs.

A 4516 would be a compact, steel framed 45 in S&W speak. It would be the same size as my 457S alloy framed 45 but heavier.

Have three alloy frame guns myself (lower row in pics)
Also three all stainless steel guns -
S&W 629-2 Mountain Gun 44
S&W 640-1 357
Kahr MK40 Elite 03 40
Alloy Gun Weights
-----Weight-Unloaded/Loaded---Bullets
S&W 342 38 --- 11.6/14.0 ---(5/135 grain 860 fps 222 fpe GDHP short barrel
-------------------- 13.3 ---(5/65 grain 1651 fps 394 fpe Magsafe
Sig P220 45 --- 31.1/36.3 ---(8/185 grain)

I've been reading on some gun forums that Bud's Gun Shop has been getting slow with shipping.
I ordered my Kahr CW45 last month. I placed the credit card order on Oct. 07 and received a Bud's email "confirmation that order was received." On Oct. 10, a follow up email stated that my "order is now in the shipping dept."
There were no other emails from Bud's until Oct. 17 and it stated that my "order had shipped" and the UPS tracking number was included. To my surprise, when I logged onto the UPS Tracking page, the pistol had been delivered to my LGS (which is 40 miles from me) on Oct. 13! The CW45 had been shipped from "Maple Grove, MN on Oct. 11." And my LGS had never called me.
I immediately drove the 40 miles to the shop on the 17th and picked up the Kahr. The LGS took at least 10 minutes in the back room before bringing me the gun, and they said the info. included with the gun only had a "barely legible name of the purchaser and the phone number was illegible." I think the LGS also screwed up and had not logged the pistol into their records before I showed up.
Yes, Bud's is slower than usual as I had made two other purchases from them over the last six months and I received those firearms within five days after submitting the order. And the same LGS had notified me by phone the day UPS delivered those guns. Bud's is probably going through growing pains considering the explosive increase in their business, but they could be starting to drop the ball. This could also be the first time they have had to ship from an out-of-state satellite warehouse and Louisville management may not have direct control over the Maple Grove, MN, warehouse staff.
Any way, all's well that ends well as the delay in picking up my gun coincided with Nani being in Phoenix taking care of grandkids. If I had picked up my Kahr on Oct. 13, she would have been home and asked, "What the hell did you buy now?"
If there is "future discovery" of this purchase, Papa can honestly say that it is another example of "divine procreation" of firearms in a locked gun safe. Who knows what goes on behind that locked safe door? (It has happened before.)

I have had them be slow off and on over the years. I suspect it entirely depends on their order volume. Some times they had the item out same or next day, others as some of you reported had some fairly lengthy delays without much communication. But the price was always right, so I cannot complain much.

I have had exactly the same experience. No way to tell in advance. I believe the speed of shipment also has something to do with which wholesaler has the gun you ordered.

Hey Barth, My P220 is one of the old folded carbon steel German guns, so it's quite a bit lighter than the solid SS slides they're building today. The factory list 25.6 ozs empty, and I weighed it some years ago and got 26 ozs. I don't have a 10 rounder - if I can't hit with 8, it's time to turn and run. :D

I picked up the 410S this morning at my LGS. It's as described, and judging from the pristine barrel, I doubt that it's even been fired. The CT laser is bright too.

Confirm for me 410S? Is that a 40 or a 10mm? My first thought was 10 but the 4 leading makes me want to drop back to 40 and I know you don't want to stock another flavor of ammo.

It's a 40.
S&W 10mm is like 1006 I think?

Barth is right - it's a 40. According to the sn it was built in 2007, the last year for the 3rd gen, all metal S&W's.
