FYI
The current issue of Combat Handguns (not the one pictured)
has a complementary review and range test of the PM9.

Works for me! I run the PDX, seems to like it and it's the only one I've found that'll slingshot every time.

The article praised the Kahr PM9. It didn't have anything bad to say. It pretty much ran thru the specs and the range results. It was highly recommended as a concealed carry pistol.
The magazine has a few other good articles that look good... I'll read them tomarrow.

Picked up the Dec issue today, but didn't see anything on the PM9. Must be the Nov issue. There is a sweet little DB9 featured in the Dec issue.

Ok, I know this is strange but the issue has Feb. 2012 on the cover.
NEW SIGS!
MAXIMIZED .45s
NEXT-GEN 1911s

There's two Sig 1911s on the cover
Sig Sauer Scorpion
Sig Sauer Ultra Compact 1911 Two Tone

I did find a Dec copy of Personal Defense with a CM9 on the cover and a review inside comparing it to the PM9. In a nutshell, the CW9 looks like a less expensive version of the PM9.

^ Had that CM9 been out when I bought my PM9, I would have saved myself a few bucks. Fancy barrel doesnt do much for me in a close range "poke em in the eye" gun. Oh well.

Yup, Yup.
Consensus around here seems to be that they perform the same.
I almost bought a PM9. Waited and changed my mind after the CM9 was released and almost bought it.

But then a Special Edition EXO Glock G27 swept me off my feet.
Later, as I drifted back towards a CM9 again, a long sought after classic
S&W 640-1 surfaced.

I still want a CM9. But my S&W 342 ti 38 +P owns my pocket carry.
At 11.6 ozs empty / 14.0 loaded with 135 gr Speer GDHP SB +P.
Sporting narrow polished Secret Service grips, SS trigger/w action job
and XS Systems Big Dot NS - not even the CM9 can replace it...

I still may get one just because... that will have to wait till tomorrow

My Dec. issue has the Baby Desert Eagle II on the cover, with no PM story. So I guess I have a reason to watch for the mailman. Yes, I lead such a boring life that the mail is a daily highlight.:o I especially like to read the "real" stories. I wonder why they all seem to be written by the same person...hmmmm?;)

The cm9 IS a pm9 at a lower price to compete with all the new pocket 9s being offered.

Kahr marketing calls it something else (cm9) so pm9 owners would not be whining about it.
just sayin'

I buy gun magazines and like Combat Handguns the best...I like to read Massad Ayoob's columms and find them interesting and informative... The gun tests basically show pictures of the pistols function and controls but either the factory sends them "gunsmith specials" well looked over new models not directly off the assembly line or they are just lying about how great the guns all function and shoot...

Every article I have read about the P380 said the gun was perfect right out of the box with zero firing problems...It doesnt seem to matter who the gun is made by even a Jennings .25 acp fires everything put through it perfectly and will print a 2-3" group at 25 yards...."yea right", I can't do that with my 5" S&W 629 so either they got Jerry Miculek doing their accuracy test firing or they are stretching things a bit...

I did find it interesting that in one magazines test of sub compact 9mm pistols the CM9 beat out the Solo and Sig and was only 2nd to the Kimber compact 9mm (not solo) with a 1911 style frame but a much larger gun that is not a pocket pistol and shouldn't have been in a sub compact test IMHO...

Gun magazines are simply advertising agents for the gun manufacturers so it wouldn't make sense for them to slam anybody so take their tests with a grain or two of salt...They are at best good man throne material sometimes with a little eye candy thrown in for extra entertainment...

^^^ Yep, what "getsome" says! I still spend too much money on gunzines and like to read them though.

Yeah, I also agree, Getsome. The on line reviews aren't any better either. I don't think the guy, Jerry?, at Gun Blast ever saw a gun he didn't like. I only watch when I need reinforcement for a questionable purchase I WANT to make. :)

Sometimes the comparisons have a glimmer of truth in them (9mm compact shoot out).
But I mostly look for range testing with FPS on various SD ammo from specific guns.

Reviews are nice but take them with a grain of salt. I believe most modern day hand guns are pretty good. Either that or I'm the luckiest gun owner in the world because I haven't bought a bad one yet.:D

They are pretty good aren't they? The last bad one I had was a PT745 and that was 5 or 6 years ago. I've bought two or three dozen since then, including all five Kahrs.

What happened with the PT745?
