I'm new to the forum, and new to Kahr and polymer framed pistols. I just picked up a CW45 and have not fired it yet. Can someone enlighten me on why my slide begins a rearward creep as I pull the tirgger. It moves rearward about 1/8" before the trigger break slams it forward. Having never handled one of these pistols previously, I don't know whether this is typical or not.

Neither my CW45 or CW40 does that. I'd certainly give Kahr a call and see what's up with that if no one has an explantion.

Try a very light coating of white lube on the striker block, both lobes of trigger cam and the forward surface of the striker dogleg. White lithium, TW25B, etc.

Not normal.
Sounds to me like the striker is not sliding freely. Can you push the striker back with your thumb with the slide off ? They have been known to have some debris stuck in the striker channel. Could need a good hosing out with some solvent or a full disassembly of the slide to clean it out. Or you have a very weak/short recoil spring???

You both nailed it. I use Wilson Combat Ultima-Lube grease on my 1911s so I hit the striker and cam lobe areas with that and, when I moved the striker back, a small bit of what seems to be polymer came out of the channel. Now she's tight as a tic. Learned something new on my first post - thank you both, I appreciate the help. :)

The striker channel seems to collect stuff during the assembly process. That's why the "Proper Prep for new Kahrs" came along, well that and general lube points. I always tell folks to follow the proper prep and Lube and especially Lube point 6 rub grease into the slide spot indicated. Most here will tel you to use non-chlorinated brake cleaner spray, sticking the tiny straw that comes with it into the clean out hole in the top of the striker channel to flush out as much of the crud as possible.
Some go further and say the first time to do a detailed cleaning of the slide removing the striker and cleaning out that channel really well to get out the manufacturing residue. Once done, if you regularly flush it with brake cleaner and never lube it you should be good going forward.
