Bought a new PM9 a week ago. Took it to the range.. the first 100 rounds were fine. In the next 25 I had 3 FTFs. (two for me and one for my son who was helping). After 200 rounds of FMJ I switched to my carry ammo, Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel. I shot 25 rounds of this with no problems. We noticed that all of our failures came with the 7 round magazine, and after researching in this forum I think the magazine (and the way I was gripping it) were the source of the problem. So...I bought 2 more 6 rounders and went back to the range. I ran 50 rounds of FMJ and another 20 rounds of my self defense ammo with no problems.
One other observation...because I am not used to the long trigger pull I was having some accuracy issues. I started holding the gun really tight and my accuracy really improved. My son says he doesn't like the long trigger but loves the accuracy (he was making a single hole from 15 feet).
So far I really like the gun. My wife thinks it is "cute."

Yep, the trigger takes some getting used to. I learned on a PM40 then added a CM9 and shoot them both twice/month or so to keep some muscle memory. I shot a DA/SA SIG P226 most of the time, so the difference is significant.
However, you can learn the trigger well enough to shoot 8" groups at 25 yards, 4" at 10, with a little more range time. The good thing is that the trigger is very, very consistent and very smooth. This is why you can eventually learn to shoot it well.

Welcome to KahrTalk!
I had issues with my PM9 7 round mag. Kahr indulged me by letting me exchange the 7 rounder, which was bad, for a 6 rounder. Both 6 rounders I now have function without issue.

I am familiar with the "educational" targets. What I needed was to get used to the small size of the gun, shooting with a 2 finger grip, which requires a bit firmer grip. I am actually happy with how I am shooting it now. The purpose of this gun is to have something for self defense that is so easy to carry that it can always be on me. I don't need to hit the bullseye from 15 yards. I can already put all 6 rounds in a 4 inch circle at 10 yards when firing relatively quickly. This is just fine for the intended purpose, and I am sure it will get better with time. I have other carry guns to practice my head shots at 25 yards :)

Hi DP and welcome to the forum. Glad you like your new PM9, it's a winner and should just get better over time. One thing on breakin is you need to use ammo with a bit of punch to overcome the drag of metal getting familiar with it's neighbor - lots of friction there that drags the action.
If you haven't be sure to go through the Proper Prep drill in the Kahr-Tech section.
