I received my PM9, and now it's time to get a pocket holster for it. I have the De Satis Nemisis, and am wondering if the Remora is a better mouse trap? It can be worn IWB or in the pocket. It has no clips. Looks like it may work good in both places. Any input would be greatly appreciated..Thanks, Mike

I had two, one for my PM9 and one for my XDM Compact - sent both back.

Great customer service, product wasn't for me.

They are pretty thick, so pocket carry would be questionable and I don't trust anything without some sort of physical connection point on it to hold my GUN. I've only heard of one report of a guy's Remora coming out while shopping... but that doesn't mean there isn't more or that it won't ever happen again.

I have one, and it's marginally "okay." The rubbery material really sticks good to the inside of your pocket, just like the Desantis, but like has been pointed out, it's a bit thick. I'm a small guy, and my pockets are really large enough in most of my pants to satisfy pocket carry consistently.

Give it a try. If you don't like it, they'll refund your money. Great people!

My Nemisis really doesn't stay in my pocket when I draw. (Maybe because it is new and is not broke in to the gun)?? That is why I'm looking for a ''stickier'' holster. I am a big guy, so a little thicker holster will hide. I need more sticky, so to speak..Mike

I have a Remora, a Nemesis, and a Desantis Super fly. I can tell you that the Super Fly is by far the "stickiest" material of the three. It will stay in your pocket.

I tried a Remora for my CM9. It has a sewn together section that is below the muzzle of the gun and raises the gun 1.5"+ in the pocket, causing the back of the slide and grip frame to almost reach the top edge of a standard jeans front pocket and making the gun very plainly visible. So jeans pocket carry is out. And it is thick.

I tried it IWB, but could not get it and the gun to stay where I wanted them long enough to get my belt tightened and everything secured.

I liked the smooth draw. Maybe it would have worked in the door pocket of my car. But I sent it back and Allen quickly refunded my money. Great guy.

Mike, I have a horsehide pocket holster from El Paso. It is not as sticky as a Nemesis or Super Fly. Neither are any leather pocket holsters. But the Nemesis and all leather holsters have one or two hooks designed to catch in the pocket. But for this to work, you need to practice drawing the gun so that the hook that sits behind the trigger guard catches in the pocket right below the back end of the pocket opening. Continue to draw the gun and the holster will stay there.

I know it is troubling when the holster moves as you are drawing the gun. But once you have learned to use the hook(s), and learned that the holster is not going to come out of the pocket still encasing the gun, you get to where you can ignore the holster movement and draw with confidence.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to do a little more research and watch some youtube videos. I may opt for a superfly or the Remora, or both. I can always send the Remora back. Thanks for the help..Mike

I liked mine but only wore it around the house IWB and it worked very well for me. Did some jumping around etc., and it stayed in place well. Didn't like it for pocket carry, usually wear jeans and it was too tight in them. I bought two of them and had plans for both of them but I like my Garrett ST so well, I sold one and am selling the other.

If you've got a big pocket (jacket, cargo, etc.) it will work great. To me Remora is an amazing product. Doesn't move an inch when worn IWB. Sweats, jeans, surf shorts...it's all good! I can use a public urinal and it's so sticky that even with my fly down, it stays in place!! Try it!

I bought the Remora for my CM9. It would probably stay in the waist band if you wear tight pants. I didn't feel too secure with it that way. I have a Don Hume I like for that.

Like Jfootin said the shape could be difficult for inside pocket as it comes. I trimmed mine down to be closer to the way that the Superfly looks and it sorta works. I use it that way when I pocket carry. I really like the looks of that Superfly. I may have to get one of those.

I'm surprised to read so many negative reports on the Remora. I have been carrying my K9 Elite in one iwb for almost a year and can't say enough good things about it. It conceals better than anything else I have tried especially in t shirt and shorts weather. I never, ever had the thing move around on me and the K9 as we know is a heavy gun particularly fully loaded. Now grant it I'm not one to be doing alot of hand stands but I have never had any moments where I thought the gun was sliding out of the holster.

I bought the one with the reinforced top so that may make some difference. I would highly recommend Remora for iwb. I had a LCP that i carried in the pocket and used a Desantis Super Fly for that and it worked great. That was before I knew about Remora.

I can't attest to Remora's ability to perform as a in the pocket holster but as a iwb holster with something as heavy as a K9 it's flawless imo.

Not sure how well it would/does work as a pocket holster but MrsFlyr has a Remora for her PM9, she got it to be able to carry iwb in outfits that she can't wear a belt with.

We both liked it (I also tried it iwb). Will probably have to order her another one though as since we put a CT on the PM9 it won't fit in the holster any longer (and I haven't had a chance to see if I can mod it to work).

I now have an Uncle Mike's #3 pocket holster that I got for < $10. It is MUCH thinner than the Remora and sits lower in the pocket. It fits both my CM9 and my new S&W 638. It will come out with the CM9 at times, unless I make it catch at the back of my pocket by sweeping the gun rearward a bit as I draw it. The 638 comes out easily with the holster staying put.

I decided to do an experiment, trying it in the waist. The UM holster has 1" wide horizontal trips of sticky material on the front and back. They help a little in the pocket. But when I insert it AIWB with my belt snug, the pressure makes those strips hold like crazy! I positioned it with the slide of my CM9 (or cylinder of my 638) behind my left front belt loop on my jeans, with a negative cant so that the grip lays horizontally just above my belt. My fat middle aged belly expands above it, making any loose shirt drape in front of the gun with no printing. Even though there is not much retention of the gun in the holster and drawing is effortless, the belly pushes down on the gun keeping it snug in the holster until I want to draw it.

The holster and both guns are short enough that it doesn't dig into my gut or get uncomfortable when sitting. Having just those 1" sticky strips, it is easy to insert and position the holster with my belt buckled. I could not do that with the Remora because it is sticky all over. Yet the UM stays where I put it, with those strips providing lots of stick under pressure right where needed. And the thinness of the UM is an advantage over the Remora in the waist, too, IMO.

UPDATE: I have been wearing the Uncle Mike's #3 holster AIWB with the J-frame for hours, now. Perfectly comfortable. Hasn't budged at all as I have stood up, done tasks around my place and sat here in front of my computer. A few minutes ago, I drew the J-frame while sitting here and amazingly, I was able to insert the thin barrel and reholster the gun one handed. How can you beat that?! :D
