View Full Version : Guide rod issue
I guess its called the guide rod, its the bottom hole under the barrrel hole. If I release the slide somewhat slower than letting it snap forward by releasing the slide the tip of the rod gets stuck outside of the barrel. Is this common ? It only will do this if I let the slide back slow. I included a picture.

Hmm... No replies??? OK, I'll bite...
Why... do it slooooooooooooowwww?????????
It's a highly-engineered concealed-carry firearm designed to be loaded 1 way. Load it/release the slide just as Kahr recommends, and you should have no issues.
Maybe with a $2k custom range gun (1911) you could fan'angle (or "futz" with) the slide whatever way you wanted and still be OK, but on a Kahr???
Seriously, why do it SLOW?!?!

I was having the same problem with my CM9 along with a failure to extract. Kahr sent me a new recoil spring assembly. You might try opening the muzzle end of the outer recoil spring just a little to prevent the spring end from entering the hole for the guide rod. That seems to be a common problem, too.

Since you may be calling Kahr about your mag splitting mention this to them also. If it's an issue they'll fix it up.
