Cleaning or Polishing K9 Stainless Exterior

Ok so now I am wondering how I can clean up the exterior slide and frame of my K9 stainless. I dont want it shiney but the stainless looks like it has a patina on it and I want to get it back to a factory finish.
What do you guys do or use to maintain your factory stainless finish?
