The front end of the polymer frame on my PM9 bulges outward. Is this typical?

My personal opinion is YES, it's part of the design. The angle of the picture makes the bulge look a bit exaggerated, but I believe my PM9 has a slight bulge there, too. With the slide installed, it's not noticeable at all.

Yep, typical for the poly frame Kahrs.
BTW, Welcome to the forums :)

Good to know. Didn't appear as though the rails themselves were affected much, nor was there excessive lateral slide movement. Looks a little strange and I don't know why Kahr would design it that way, though.
Thanks for the welcome, Greg.

Looks like you have a chip in you rail too!
:)
Welcome to the forum! My PM9 has that same bulge It is nothing to worry about, that is how they are. In terms of that little notch in the left side rail, that is normal as well. It is supposed to be there. Have you shot your PM9 yet? The little gun is amazing. I believe it is the best CCW out there. :D
Please give us a range report after shooting it!

About 70 rounds downrange so far. Pleased with the accuracy, but the trigger takes so getting used to. Not exactly comfortable for an extended range session, so my SIG's got more time on that trip. Had a couple of failures to feed, but still in the brake-in and not prepared to get too worked up about it yet.
And, yes, I know about the notch in the rail, but the bulge was one of those things that I didn't recall seeing when I first acquired the gun.

I agree with WMD...this notch is part of the purposeful design that allows the slide to be easily removed and reinserted. My PM9 and all others have this notch.
Also, I feel the "bulge" is a good design by Kahr. With the PM9, there's not much to criticize in the design, especially if the owner has cared for it properly.
By the way, most of us have bulges that would be more visible if parts of us were stripped off, too. Just sayin'....

Can someone define normal? It's something I've strove for all my life. Not sure I'm even close or gaining on it.
I console myself by considering myself normal and all you guys a little off but the odds are against me on that one too.
