Hi, new to the forum first post.
I just picked up my brand new cm9 today for the great price of 428 out the door, and put 100 rounds through it. I didn't know about all the prepping of the gun and I didn't do any of that stuff. I opened it right out of the box, loaded it, and shot it and it ate everything without a single hiccup and everything worked perfectly. I also did not chamber the load using the slide stop, I just did it the normal way and had no problems at all. Maybe I just got lucky, but it doesn't seem like mine needs any kind of break in!
Has a decent amount of snap to it, but handles well, is accurate, and the trigger is very light and smooth. Will definitely need a holster for pocket carry because of the light trigger and no safety. Overall, great gun!!
The ONE issue I have is that the magazine does not want to drop out of the gun. It barely pops out and is hard to pull out. I contacted Kahr and got an email back from Jay in about 5 minutes saying to send it in for a free replacement. From reading the forum it looks like some people have bent their mags with pliers so I will try that first.

theres a sticky i think here that will tell you how to make it drop free. it says use a vise but i used channel locks wrapped in electrical tape for protection

Welcome to KahrTalk!
Besides covering the trigger there is a another very important reason for using a holster for pocket carry... You want your piece to always be oriented properly. Could one day save your life.

Actually the manual says to pull the mag out so I assumed it was designed that way. I prefer the drop free variety, so a simple very light tweak in vice and now it is the latter. Piece of cake.

After messing with the magazine for about an hour with some pliers, it now drops free!!!! At first I squeezed it too much and it was so tight that I was getting FTFs from the extra pressure on the rounds preventing them from leaving the magazine, but I bent it back out slightly and it is working great. Thanks guys! I will go ahead and do the prep and lube next.

Welcome Clay!
These are fantastic little carry guns, enjoy it!
I find these guns are a bit of a guessing game, some of them run flawless, while others seem to need a little love and care to get them flawless, and then you have the other subset of guns that just seem to have issue after issue.
Sounds like you got a keeper there!
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, Clay! And welcome to the CM9 owner's Club! These little pistols are a real success story. I own one of the prettiest CM9s in existence - custom mirror polished, melted and smoothed. Here's my Slide Show (http://s1230.photobucket.com/user/John_England/slideshow/My%20Custom%20CM9?sort=6).

Dang I hope that statement didn't put a curse on your new gun. I could drag a shiney new CM all the way home on a string behind my truck and it would still be 1000 times nicer than a Ke, Ke, I can't even say that Ke word.
You better grab that new gun, fondle it, love it, and say your sorry and explain how you lost your mind with that statement.

Is this a safe queen or do you carry it?

No. It is my carry pistol and, at present, my only gun. (I have a modest, but growing wish list, though! :)) I have owned many guns over the years. Went through a rough spot a couple of years ago and had to sell all of my guns. One of them was a CW9 which I really liked. So, when I started looking about getting another one, I found out about the new CM9 model. I went on the Kahr website to investigate it, discovered the forum and saw this shiny new beauty on sale for a whole lot less than it would have cost to buy one and get the melting and polishing done. I had to hock an arm and a leg to come up with the money, but it was worth it! :D
