PM9 and PM40 Slide Question

I have heard that the new PM9 slides are tapered at the muzzle. My PM9 on the right in the picture below is not tapered. I just picked up a PM40 that's a few years old and see that it came with a slide that is tapered at the muzzle. It's on the left in the picture below. Have the PM40s always had the tapered slide?

I don't believe so, they use to be what we call blunt nose like your 9 on the right. It could be newer than you think or it may have had the slide replaced at some point.

Sierra just had his blunt nose slide replaced due to poor rollmarks and they put a new style slide on his.

I used the SN tracker on the Glock Talk site and it told me 2007, but that might not be accurate. I'll have to do more research.
