Just ordered my new CM9, should arrive later this week. Thinking of buying a few hundred rounds of Remmington UNC to break it in. Is this ammo OK for this gun?

Welcome to the forum, John! Is that new Car a Ford or a Chevy?
Remmington UMC FMJ ammo is fine for break in. Kahr says put 200 rounds of FMJ through it to break it in.
Be sure and read the manual, watch the take down video on the Kahr website (http://www.kahr.com/Pistols/Kahr-CM9.asp on the Downloads tab), and study these stickies in the Kahr-Tech forum:
Proper prep of a new kahr (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1521)
Kahr Lube Diagram (http://kahrtalk.com/showthread.php?t=308) (diagram is in post #7)
We want your experience with the gun to be flawless, and these steps will help ensure that. Good luck with your new gun! :)

JohnRem UMC in a green and white box works well but is dirtier than others. I prefer Lawman or PMC. Just clean after each range trip. Spray that striker channel out with GunScrubber.

keep iut cleaned and lubed and all american brand ammo will do OK. I shoot any ammo that I can find cheap for range fodder. I have for years shot wwb 100 pak 115 fmj at wal mart. best prices around, goes bang every time, if it is dirty my kahr doesn't know it. One could take 10 different brands and one will be the dirtiest but still doesn't mean it is bad ammo, just not as clean as others. Amierican ammo is good stuff....
Pay attention tothe two stickys JFootin posted. They will help u alot.

Been using UMC ammo for practice for years. No problems. I've tried it in my CM9 and so far it runs great.

I used Walmart Remington (White & Green box) and Winchester (White Box) all the time in my PM9. Absolutely no problems ever with this ammo. I clean after every range trip anyway, so how dirty it gets is no big deal. Kahr can handle it if I can clean it.

Well I just received it today. Already stripped, cleaned and lubed. Hope to get to the range Friday and see how it performs.

Congratulations! When you stripped and cleaned the gun did you put any grease on the recoil springs both small and large and slick them up good?

Yes, I used MagnaLube-G. I've been using it with my 1940 Walther PP 32 to minimize wear. When I found out there was only 1100 Walther's like mine made, I got the CM9 to semi retire the PP.
I'm taking the CM9 to the range this afternoon. I can't wait.
These CM9s seem to like to run wet, Follow the tech section and you should be good to go. I was able to run numerous brands during break in only issue was with Hornaday critical defense but now all is good

I used a drop of gun oil at the striker firing pin area, all other areas I used the Magnalube-G. I'll see how that works out later today.

Striker pin areas can run nearly dry. Don't put any more oil there for 500 rounds to prevent light primer strikes.
Looks like the other gun is a rare collector item. It's a good idea to save it.

Apparently it was a Danish federal police pistol. It was a special order and there were only 1100 of them made. It has a lanyard ring and a heal on the magazine. Great gun to shoot, it just feels perfect.

Not a set rule. But, IMO, keep it pretty much to page width or smaller so one doesn't have to move right and left and right and left to read text.
I use Photobook, copy the Direct link by clicking in that field on a picture, hit the picture button (http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee486/John_England/Miscellanious%20Guns%20and%20Holsters/PictureIcon.jpg) above in the edit window, and Ctrl-V to paste it in.

nothing nicer than a finely worn gun, that has beenused but not abused..

Very nice. Those guns are classics. My son bought a P-38 (1939 I believe he said) very used and that thing has not missed a beat since he cleaned it and has been shooting it. Looks well worn but runs good. I was amazed at the "safety" features that they put in guns back then that we still have today. Loaded chamber indicators, firing pin safety, de-c*o*c*k*e*r, etc...

Had my new CM9 out today and put 100 rounds thru it. I'm really happy with this gun. Feels great and pretty accurate. Mine has no problem with slingshoting a load from the magazine. The mag doesn't drop free though, so I may do the mod to pinch it narrower.
