It's possible that I may have a 'local' trade option in available, it would involve me selling my trusty PM9 that I've never had a single issue with, and then turning around and buying a used but never shot Kahr K9 for the same money.

What are your thoughts?

Are the differences is size and weight going to be noticeable OWB and/or IWB? I'm also thinking my holsters will not work with the extra 1/2" barrel length).

As I type this I'm kind of realizing it might not be in my best interest and should stick with finding an MK9.

Man, I wouldn't part with that perfect PM9. If you look at the example set by Barth and Jeepster, the answer is not to swap, but to ADD to your collection! :D

The MK9 would be a nice ADDITION to your collection and would fit in your PM9 holsters. The K9 would be sweet and a more accurate shooter, and you would have the added joy of acquiring a new holster or 2 to go with it! That's part of the fun!

Personally, I'd much rather have the PM9, but you're obviously after an all metal gun. I know the extra size and weight would be a factor for me. I have three 45's, all metal, and two 40's that weigh less than the K9. Do you have another 9mm that will fit in your pocket when an IWB or OWB holster is not practical?

Nope.

For what tiny little bit it might be worth, I don't think I'd do it. The K9 is sweet but I don't think I'd swap for a good PM.

Since you asked... If it were possible I would add the K9 and if down the road it completley or largely repalced the PM9 I would at that time sell or trade the PM9 away.

MK9 and you could possibly talk me out of my PM9. K9 I don't think so even if it is a nice gun.

Stick with the proven PM9. Shoot for the MK9 as an addition later. You won't have any regrets.

You will totally love the MK9 - I'm sure of it!

I do make a point of keeping all guns that are good to me
and I'm good with.
But that's just me...

The PM9 is really good for pocket carry.
My MK40 not so much (it's a little on the heavy side).
But on a belt you won't feel a thing.

I guess everybody knows I'm mostly a stainless guy.
And the extra weight soaks up recoil like a sponge.
The stainless Kahrs remind me of a micro 1911.
daddy like

Maybe it's just me, but I'm more accurate with the stainless
Kahrs too.

Range report including gun pictures must follow!
