Ok, so I know there are a lot of holster posts, but NONE that I have found ask or address the retention of your gun in the holster. Ie, I want to be able to to combat roles or close quarters combat without having to worry about my gun falling out.

I have a Crossbreed Minituck right now and really like it...AFTER completely reshaping it to fit like Robin Hood's tights. I can't hold this thing upside down now and shake it and my gun will stay in.

1)I want something with a leather lining on the inside so that my gun's finish will be preserved, plus they're nice.
2)It has to be tuckable.
3)I have to be able to reholster one handed, so this limits me to kydex or reinforced leather as far as I know. Please enlighten me.
4)Obviously it has to be comfortable and SUPER concealable like my Crossbreed. That doesn't mean that it HAS to be a hybrid...but I like the style for sure!
EDIT: 5) It has to stay in the holster with the holster manipulated/shaken upside down. And I added pictures: I hope they help!

Thanks ahead of time, because I can always rely on good feedback from this group-a-guys.

Talk to Ron or Sheryl, great people and great product - you will not be disappointed.

Did I mention the leather lined kydex? :)

I'm aware of these and LOVE the look of them. But no one has told me about how they retain. I know they're adjustable too, but to what extent? The only way I can illustrate this is to explain how COMPLETELY changed my current Crossbreed is after I took the hair dryer to it 4 different times.

I also don't know how the Silent Thunder will compare to Comfort and Concealability of a hybrid. That's why I need advice from those of you that have had both or at least something other than my one and only holster.

Ron's also designing a hybrid design by the way kahrtalk members!

I had a Crossbreed, hated it... sold it 2 weeks later. I got in touch with Ron and Sheryl and never looked back, most comfortable holster I've ever worn IWB.

This week or next week I'll be ordering my 3rd holster from them, an STX, this time an OWB for my MK9/PM9.

I can hold my holstered gun upside down and shake it without the gun falling out, now add to that the pressure of being IWB and I don't see how it could come out unless you wanted it to.

I have two Silent Thunders (so far) and I like em immensely. They are tension adjustable but I think even without that they fit so well that your gun will be secure.

I've tried the hybrid style and I liked it too, I didn't like putting it on and off and I still can't wrap my mind around have a quarter of a cows skin to make a holster for sub compact but they do work.

Me, I'll stick with Garrett.

For all leather they make nice stuff there too but I like Mernickle, excellent retention and nice work. Good people too.

Must be the leather aroma or something, there are lots of nice folks in the holster business.

I agree that the hybrids are cumbersome to take on and off...but since I don't do it often, I can look past that with ease. Have you seen the Garrett's new hybrid design?

I believe I have, but maybe they just mentioned it in one of our chats over email. After my experience with the painstaking adventure of putting on and taking off a Crossbreed, I'm not sure I'm up to the challenge any time soon myself.

Will be interesting to see the real deal and get some reviews flowing in though.

I got used to mine, but it did take quite a bit of fondling to get it on smoothly lol. I don't mind it though because they fit so dang well!

Hey, the Silent Thunder is a great holster. It is lined with leather like you wanted, and you can adjust it until you can't get your gun in it. But adjusted correctly, or even loosely, the retention is still good. Just adjust it to where the draw is the way you want it and the gun won't go anywhere when its in there.

Awesome! I basically just need the confidence that it will retain like I wish because every other feature seems great. If I can tighten beyond holstering, than there HAS to be an adjustment in there for me!
Thanks JFootin!

That leaves me with just ONE question. Get the Silent Thunder...or wait for the hybrid to hit the Kahr PM line?!?

If you want, I can make a video of me shaking my gun upside down while doing cartwheels.

OK, never mind - I see that going viral, and I don't want to be 'that guy'. :)

As far as which to get, you'll have more stability with the dual clips or belt loops, whatever option you choose (if they have options on those, not sure).

That said, I've never drawn my gun only to find the holster followed it, it stays put quite well - but can have a 'rocking' motion. Maybe that's one of the reasons I find it so comfortable, it can move slightly with me as I sit, bend, stand, etc.

I love my tuckable holsters from local holster builder near me. I think I have tried em all and his are the most comfortable.

Jeepster09, let us know how stable that is with the single offset clip and that fairly hefty gun in it.

Those are slick looking holsters! The only potential issue I might have with those, is they seem like they don't have adjustable retention. Since I like an unusual amount of retention, I doubt it would suit my needs. Just out of curiosity though, how much do those run?

Well I wore the 44 in holster all day today and it works well. He has been charging me $50-$60 for custom made to my gun, with about one week turn around.
He is construction super during the day, he does holsters to relax at night.

The rention is good nice and snug. By the way, the gun is super light being it is Titanium and Scandium, a regular gun this size would most likely not work very well.

I'm loving the Silent Thunder from Garrett. I've gone through quite a few in the search of the Holy Grail of Holsters and I think I've found it. The tuckable mag carriers are nice, but I cut off the huge flap that got in the way of grabbing the mag.
