I will be selling one of my guns soon. I want to advertize on internet sites which specialize in this. I need help in understanding the steps I go through at my end.
I assume (I know):
1. Put up ad
2. Get paid
3. ship to other State via FFL
I assume (there's that word again) I need to secure my FFL first. Do they generally do all the packing? Does money need to go thru him? Can anyone spell out what you go through? Thanks
PS I'm in MICHIGAN

Use this sight....FREE, just sell in person and get and give bill of sale or ship via your gun dealer to theres. Most charge in the $20 range to do transfer for you. You take to your dealer and they ship it to buyers dealer. Buyer goes through same check as if buying from dealer. You arrange your method of payment, Pay Pal etc. [FYI if you use pay pal do not list it is for firearm sale, they are anti gun]. Your dealer/shipper collects no money for you.

First, locate a FFL holder who is willing to handle the transfer for you. Most FFL holders will charge a fee for this service. You may pack the weapon yourself and deliver it for shipment or at the dealer's descretion, he may do the packing for you.
Next advertise your weapon on the internet.
Insist that payment be via certified check or U.S. Postal Money Order.
Insist that the buyer send a signed copy of his receiving dealer's FFL to you or your chosen dealer.
After you have received payment and the signed copy of the FFL has been delivered to your FFL. Drop off your gun to your FFL for shipment.
