I'm assuming it's center, since when I use 6 O'clock everything is way low. But I thought I'd ask since this is my first double action only trigger and I'm still getting used to it.

I'm still shooting about 6" low at 15 yrds and I don't think I'm milking the trigger. Exactly how should the front sight be positioned with respect to the rear sight.

Should the top edge of the front sight be level with the top edge of the rear sight? Or should the Front dot be centered between the top edge of the rear sight?

I've been practicing dry firing and as I said, I don't seem to be milking.

get some snap caps about a half dozen and throw them in with 30 regular rounds and let some one load ur magazine for u so u don't know if one or 4 snap caps are in that magazine. That will show u bigtime if u are milking it..

seeing more of that front sight will raise ur pattern, no matter what hold u are using now.. I would suggest u just use POA shooting at 7 yards, seeing only the fronjt sight clearly and the target and rear sight just seem to fall in place. I can't see all 3 clerly, so rely on the front sight as ur friend, Pracitce POA, get fast at it at 7 yards. Ur groups might not be 2" or such but again this is a defense gun,. made for close up use. I can tellyou at 15 yards I am terrible with my PM9, so I just don't practice hardly at that distance. At thatdistance I feel good about "the running" part more than the shooting part. At 7 yards and under I use POA and although my groups are not real tight using this method, I am much faster than trying tol line up all that sight sh-t, for again in a real scenario, ur not gonna do that either, let alone think about doing it. U can keep um all day in a 6" group and under at 7 yards by POA shooting and u can get damn fast at it to. Just my two cents here but u have a long ass trigger system, smoother than butter and a short ass barrel, short sight radius, just not a target gun..

Thanks Jocko. Sounds like a good plan. I'm going to the range Saturday morning to give it a try.

Align the sights so the bullets go where you want them to, then learn to look for that sight picture. It's a dot the 'i' sight system. If you look at an 'i', the dot sits above the bar with a space in between.

But, IMO, I'm with Jocko: focus on the front sight. It's not a target pistol and aligning sights is distracting and time consuming. Not good in a SD situation. Learn to point and shoot. Develop muscle memory to point that gun, even from hip level, and make the bullets go where you want them. Quick draw and performance shooter Bob Munden achieves incredible results shooting his guns just after the barrel has cleared his hip holster. Based on his performance, I believe that better accuracy can be achieved at SD range by practicing point and shoot until you can simple tell your hand and arm where you want each bullet to go. Like throwing a ball. We don't need sights for that, do we? But it takes practice, practice, practice. Now, sure, if you are trying to hit precisely at 25 yards or more, use a rest and the sights. I was thinking about this thread on my way home from work yesterday. Happened to have a magazine full of rounds that had repeatedly been chambered that I've been meaning to 'dispose of properly'. Thought this would be a good time to validate this.

I was able to shoot the cap off my Slimfast bottle from 15 yards last night using the point of aim method, I guess that'll do. :)

Yeah, but did shooting the cap off change the taste? Seems easier to use an opener, but then I don't carve pumpkins with my 45 either.

Well finally had a good day. I took everyones advice and I'm hitting the target at 15 and 20 yrds. Apparently, the front sight white dot on my CM9 needs to be centered with the top of the rear sight, not down in the notch. Also I was gripping the gun too tight which was resulting in me pulling down when the trigger breaks.

I'm surprised at how much more effort is required to shoot these compact DAO pistols. My other gun is a 1940 Walther PP which is only slightly larger but it's effortless to shoot, well balanced and accurate.
