After 4 months of waiting I finally pulled the plug
and took back my P239 from the gunsmith.
Drove to another gunsmith over lunch and had my new optic orange
Ameriglo Pro from sight installed while I waited for $10.

Barth is Happy now...

BTW topgunsupply has Sig Sauer P239/357 8 round extended mags on
sale for $19.95 each (I ordered two - LOL)
http://www.topgunsupply.com/sig-sauer_p239-magazines/

As for the P220 saga?
The original Smith now says his contact at Sig Sauer left the company.
My gun has fallen through the cracks.
And he is suppose to get an Email from them today.

Fool me once shame on you,. fool me twice?
I proposed since no work had actually been done on the gun, just damage,
that we transfer the project to another, more available, gunsmith of my choosing.

This transfer has been made.

S&W 640-1 Update:
My Wolff extra power hammer springs arrived.
The new gunsmith installed them, no charge, as I waited.
Blasted through a box of Sabers with no troubles.

I need a source for some Sig grip screws for my P238. I am losing them faster than I can locktite them in. WTF!

Sig CS sent me one gratis. The problem is the process takes a week before it's shipped and nearly another week before I get it. I shot 50 rounds or less today, came home and noticed the newly installed screw was gone. All were checked and locktite added to the screws. My LGS says that how you spot a Sig from 20 feet, there's always a missing grip screw.

Hey Barth. I glad you got the P239 back. I'm not that familiar with that gun since I've never had one, but I know it's important to you. My main concern is the P220. I was truly blessed to have mine returned from the brink in good condition after having been stolen. I truly hope yours is repaired and rejoins the fold soon.

Triggerman, you might try them rubber o rings we talked about awhile ago. A little alcohol (not the good stuff) dab of lok tight or finger nail polish and them o rings and they should be there when you look.

whats up with gunsmiths? Seems there is a shortage of them here in Calif. At least where I am. Dont mind driving a bit to get to one but trying to get a set of sights installed is like pulling teeth. I would think that such a job for them would be a slam dunk--like pick it up tomorrow or in 2 days sort of thing. Heck, these guys around here cannot tell you if it will be done in a week or not. Some of it is do to them working every other day or half days ect. If they are so busy why not fulltime?

Rant over. Sorry Barth.

Hex head is better for staying on according to Mas - LOL!
Top Gun Supply is a great source for Sig and Glock parts.
I use them all the time.

My P329/357 likes to throw grips screws too.
I tighten them before and after every shooting session.
MK40 is the worst.
All four grips screws and that funny torx screw that holds the
slide stop spring always need tightening after shooting just two boxes of ammo - LOL!

I don't know.
It's like finding a good doctor or auto mechanic.
I'm so tired of issues with length of time or poor service.
At this point I think I'm just about done with mods anyway.

Some of these guys I really question their gun knowledge too?
This latest one seems to be good and honest.
Also he's been quick to step in and fix the other guys stuff.
That's impressive.
I'll use him going forward with the P220 and see what happens.

I have had fleeting thoughts of a custom 1911.
Maybe a Delta Elite.
Clearly those thoughts are evaporating...

I used the only washers I had but maybe can get a set of 4 screws from Brownell. Getting one at a time from Sig isn't working for me.

As a side note, is there a way to attach pictures to a PM to you? I have some Cbob shots

Clearly those thoughts are evaporating...I just had new sights put on my full size M&P. Trjicon says they need 4-8 weeks for HDs. After 9 weeks, my LGS found some at a distributor. Took him 15 minutes while I waited. No charge since I had been patient (and bitched weekly after the third week).

I still have not mastered the PM picture post myself but I know it can happen. Why don't you start a I gotta new Cbob thread and share with everyone. Maybe they won't talk about us behind our back. I'm aching to see them. Guess you made the deal?

Yeah, I got the orange front too. So far, Ive taken a solid night stand gun at $519 + 6% tax, added an Apex trigger kit, $97, a DPM Systems recoil assembly $84 and $145 for sights. Nice, but not sure its now a $900 value. I'll say one thing about it, shoots everything. Not a single issue in first 900 rounds.

Guys, you do it the same way you do it in a post. Here is a tutorial that I wrote:

I'm thinking that finding anyone technical or mechanical is hard. Took a new car to the dealer a few years back for my free oil change and the dude overfilled the crankcase. They wanted to know why I didn't come back again. I have a bunch of technicians that work for me and they're all OK but it's hit or miss on how long it takes some of them to fix something. Even my best guy has a crappy day every now and then. Finding a good doctor is ???? I'm afraid to take anything to someone else to be worked on that I can possibly do myself. I just don't need that kind of stress on top ov the rest of life.

Now if you want a set of wood grips for your gun I know of a fella around here that can make a good set.

I'm aching to see them. Guess you made the deal?I just, within minutes, accepted his price. Once we have the gun in the air, I will post his pics. He did a great job taking them.

He has black rubber grips on it now, but also is including the original DW Cocobollo grips. It has a ss barrel bushing but I get the original too. It has a long solid trigger installed (Iget original) and an Ed Brown MSH with checkering (no original available).

Cosmetically, it is less than 100% and I hope to get your opinion on that and if I can easily fix it. Regardless, I'm in with both feet and a pile of cash. Give me a couple of days before I post. We'll end up talking about some custom grips soon.

Thanks, $1.99 each, I ordered 4. Shipping more than doubled my cost but glad to have them in 3-4 days instead of 2-3 weeks. Appreciate it.

wow that little torx screw that holds that slide lock spring in should not be coming loose. Very unusual IMO to hear that. Curse the Mk frame is not polymer either so maybe that is why that little screw is working loose also. I would bet alittle finger ail polish on that screw threads wouldhold it ihn place easily but stillbe super easy to get out if needed. Super gun the MK..

Every where I go including the Toyota dealer overfills my Prius. Evidently the info put out by Toyota says 4 quarts and it's really 3 1/2. I have to watch them like a hawk. Now if they put in 4 when I say 3 1/2, I make them drain out the overage.

Thanks, also. No issue yet myself, but I ordered a few anyway with a spare mag that I wanted.
