The little details that make it mine. Cut down extended pinky mag floor plate, slightly rounded sharp edges on slide release, cleaned up back poly below slide where casting lines and flashing looked ragged, and most recently took out machine lines in barrel hood, not polished, but satin finish similar to a NAA Guardian. Won't shoot any better, just easier on my eye.

Concerning the mods you made to the slide release, do they result is less wear and tear on your thumb. I like to put my thumb on the release, but it's pretty uncomfortable after a few clips.

Yes. Much improved. It tore me up pretty bad the first outing. I just took off the sharp edges.

Exactly how did you do the barrel hood cleanup? I definitely want to do that and the slide release.

Thanks for the photo comments. I did the barrel on a really flat workbench surface using 400, then 600 wet dry paper, checking often to insure machine marks were just removed. I did work it until the (nickle ?) plating was gone as it causes a difference in color in some light. The barrel has five planes and two radii, so it takes a bit of feel to keep in exact contact to not change the factory lines. The slide release was just hand held against a sanding block, 320 then 400, 600 and rounded the top corner and outside edge.
I've done a lot of copper and precious metal work in the past, studio art stuff, so metal finishing, some fabrication isn't always a stretch.

I completed the slide release mod the other day. Thanks, it works absolutely great. Now I can rest my thumb there all day without a problem.

when I did my PM9 I contoured the slide release ALOT andthen I flattened the right side of that slide release pin to be flush with the frame also. I can still get the slide release out easily but now the right side has no protrusion on it. Kinda looks like the flush trigger pin. I never did like that pin sticking out that far on the right side. Amazine what one can do with a dremel and a sall file ...
